SINOPSIS: Medianoche. Jack Bauer, jefe de la Unidad contra el Terrorismo de Los ┴ngeles, acaba de terminar una partida de ajedrez con su hija Kimberly. Pero el entra±able momento familiar se hace a±icos instantes después, cuando Kimberly desaparece por la ventana de su dormitorio.
Antes de que Jack pueda empezar a buscarla, es requerido en la oficina para hacer frente a una emergencia y deja a su esposa, Teri, la tarea de buscar a la hija de ambos. La noche empeora cuando Jack se entera de que la agencia cree que el senador David Palmer, candidato a la presidencia de la naci≤n, estβ en peligro de ser asesinado en las siguientes veinticuatro horas.
Mientras Jack y su gente corre a descubrir quién estβ detrβs del proyecto de asesinato, Teri intenta localizar a Kimberly, cuya noche de marcha se ha convertido en una odisea por sobrevivir.
