ANIMALIA – Welcome to the Kingdom (2008)

This DvD contains the first four episodes of the visually stunning animation series inspired by Graeme Base's beloved book.

Alex and Zoe are magically whisked from their local library to Animalia, a world full of talking animals. All is not right in the once peaceful kingdom as their arrival coincides with unusual events undermining the very heart of Animalia. They arrive just in time to help solve the series of mysterious events that threaten this enchanted land. Accompanied by new friends G'Bubu the gorilla and Iggy the iguana, Alex and Zoe use their wits and imagination to help solve the mysteries and bring harmony back to Animalia. They have many adventures and make lots of new animal friends along the way.

The dialogue banter among the characters in this film is clever and entertaining and the animation work is quite outstanding.

Animalia is an Australian produced children's television series which began running on U.S. cable channel Animania HD on November 2, 2007; in Australia on Network Ten at noon on Sundays beginning on November 11, 2007; also on Nickelodeon in the USA and Australia since the start of May 2008; and in the United Kingdom on CBBC on BBC One on November 19, 2007. As of November 3, 2008, the show is also running on NRK in Norway. In Latino America the series just began running on Animal planet.
