Description

Den brittiske uppfinnaren och visionären Phileas Fogg (komikern Steve Coogan) slår vad med kollegorna och pamparna i Vetenskapsakademin om att han kan jorden runt-luffa på 80 dagar. Ingen tror honom såklart och han hånas om möjligt mer än tidigare eftersom han aldrig haft några uppfinnaridéer av värde i deras ögon. Som sällskap får han av en slump franskkinesiske Passepartout (Chan) som är efterlyst för att ha stulit en liten gyllene Buddha-staty från The Bank of England. Hans avsikt är att lämna tillbaks statyn som hör hemma i hans by i Kina (där också Passepartouts riktiga namn och bakgrund uppdagas). Den tredje medresenären är den charmiga fransyskan Monique La Roche (Cécile De France från Haute Tension).
