Incidently, the keygen had 3 options to register and I chose " client " and realized afterwards that perhaps I should have chosen " workstation ". Does this make any differnce ? I have checked and is registered until 2015 with updates forever.

There are three types of keys:

1: Client

2: Server

3: Worksatation

There are 4 key cats:

1: Standard

2: OEM

3: School

4: Home

You have to select at least on cat b4 pressing green big button "GEN". I prefer key in cat "OEM" cuz less chances to be blacklisted with OEM key.

Had a small problem with an old Win ME system that wouldn't open the keygen utility. Copied it to floppy disc and opened on newer PC. Generated key and it worked like a charm... and so does the AV program!

Is there any way to use the KeyGen for the Windows Home Server version of avast? It uses a .dat license, rather than just letting you enter a key... and I haven't been able to find a torrent of that.

the keys tend to give out a version of home edition so u might have to re-enter the key
