Summer is just around the corner and we have some new features in the works for you (the whole thing got a little slow with the release of Diablo III :)). So for now we made a small but important security update - from now on you'll get a warning every time you click a link on KAT.ph.

After a whole bunch of delays and fixes we finally finished the image part, so from now on you will be able yo upload images and add them to your torrents and posts, or just store them on your profile.


To check out your images you'll need to open the image bar which can be found at your profile. Here you can see all of the images that you've attached to your post and create albums with your stored images.


To create an album click the add album feature and specify the name of the album and its privacy level (you can change it in album settings later), and click create.


To add images to your album just click add images to album, select the type of adding (from url or your hard drive), enter either the URL or just pick the files that you want to upload and click upload. Mass upload still needs some fixing, but it works and you'll be able to see all the files uploaded as soon as the bar reaches 100%.


Currently you can only add or remove images but in future we will ad more options. We hope that you'll enjoy this feature and it will be useful to you!

Also currently there are no rules concerning images, but please use this new feature wisely and remember that our local general rules and netiquette can be applied to images too. A rules update will be available by the end of the week.

Just a small Spring update:
We wrote some new things to our rules and added a very important new part for Verified Uploaders! Be sure to check it if you need the status. Our Team can now fix the trackers in the .torrent files and finally (thanks to KAT people) now we have a radio which can be found at katradio.be!

As you know our Mod Team is working 24/7 to keep KAT.ph clean and friendly, but often they just can't handle the enormous amount of simple questions and issues from new users. Recently they started a great new initiative that will allow our Super Users to help such users with their minor issues.

From now on you can post you small issues in this thread! Also don't be lazy and check this thread before you post, it is very likely that your question was already asked.

Recently we discovered a communication issue that led to a misunderstanding between our Mod Team and a bunch of guys who wanted to help us fixing some minor security bugs. We want to apologize to those guys and assure them that this will never happen again. And as for the mods, they were just way too cautious, nevertheless we can't blame them for it, because all the people on KAT know how much work they do to keep KAT clean and friendly.

Like with many other problems that we encountered earlier we want to use this situation to avoid such problems in future. So in if you discover a serious issue with security or the inner mechanics of KAT and want to report it - feel free to contact our Staff Members directly.

In the last update we added the new image upload, but only for uploaders, yesterday it was set as our new default image upload mechanism. From now on the bbcode image tag is allowed only community. So lets see how the new system works.

Now you can attach images to all comments or forum posts! To do so you need to click the upload image button and select an image (or multiple images) using Browse or by clicking on your latest uploads.



When the image is selected - click upload and they will be added to your uploaded images and attached to your post.



The attached images are shown below the post.



And they will appear below any text you enter.



As for forum post the upload mechanism is the same, only you need to insert the images into the post by clicking on them in your Latest Uploads. Also there is a small problem with multiple upload - only the name first image will be displayed in the upload pop-up, but the mechanism still uploads all the selected images. This system still needs few fixes and after that we will start implementing a new feature based on it... and this feature is rally easy to guess.

We've been doing a lot of work on the inner part of the website lately, so this will be a really small update!

1. First of all we added a new Image Upload System which is currently available only as a screenshot uploader for everyone who uploads torrents.

2. And second we added a pack of new Special Achievements for movie lovers and few upcoming celebrations!

Brace yourself, the winter is coming... to an end! And we got something new to keep you warm during these last cold days!
1. First is the message history that can be found below any received or opened message. We hope that it will make the communication easier for you and allow you to keep track of all the pm-chatting that you have here.


2. The info on most games now has system requirements; a nice bonus for our gaming community!


3. Most of the users probably already noticed that we added a message sound for every new message! (Unfortunately no pic here.) Also we made the new message pop-up less annoying and made sure that it won't intervene with any site related activity.

4. The profile editing was moved to settings.


5. Now you can choose (or change) your country and display it in your profile (the list of countries and country display checkbox can be found in the profile editing tab).

Today, probably for the first time in our history, we have absolutely devastating news for the KAT community.

Few years ago (even before we moved to KAT 2.0 and started adding all the cool social features) when KAT was still a little chaotic and had a whole bunch of fake and spam issues, a new guy joined our mod team. This guy was very skilled at nailing down all the fakers and he quickly became an important member of our team. Over the last few years he had put a lot of work in KickassTorrents and there is no way to measure his contribution to the KAT community.

He left a mark here, a bear paw mark. And we will always remember him not just as a mod, but as a real friend. Rest in peace L4zyBear.

We decided to start this year big, so from the beginning we are launching two large features - Torrent Requests and Kickstart the Art. But before we start telling about these new things we want to say that we also officially support the SOPA Strike and encourage our users to join in and preserve the freedom of the web!

1. First we added Torrent Requests which means that from now on you can request any torrent you need! Just click the Torrent Requests sign, click the add new requests button on the left, fill in the info about the torrent and our uploaders will make sure that you get it!

Also don't worry the Ideabox is still there, but it will be available only on any torrent page and profile page, all the other pages will have the Torrent Request option.

2. Second we re-launched one of our old ideas - Kickstart The Art. We decided to help young artists and independent labels to promote their music through KAT! More info and the application form is available on the project page (link to which can also be found in the footer below)!
