Car Keys

posted 02 Aug 2012, 10:31
You know how there are certain things that represent our personalities? Cars represent who we are. I like old muscle cars and new convertible sports cars. Big trucks are fun to drive too but I'm not ready to own one of those (again).

Do you own a big white cargo van with no windows in the back? If you do then we know to stay away hee hee
Drive a Subaru with a rainbow sticker?
How about a van or SUV packed with kids?

This blog isn't about cars or car keys it is about your key chain.

The key chain says something about our personality. My previous keychain was a solid silver artisan piece that depicted the head of a large cat, maybe a mountain lion or leopard.

That is now is my past. I am not fancy these days I just try to make it one day at a time.

The key chain....I hope you chose wisely

Great post SirSeeds, very inventive.
I would be keen to know what I have on my key chain says about me.Its a large bullet shaped object with the year it was given to me by a mate engraved on it,1990, so I've been carrying it around for 22 years. I have no interest in guns, I just like the shape and weight of it and I can easily tell if its in my pocket or not.I've tries others but I always come back to what my friends call my "mini butt plug"

I keep mine light and simple but pretty utilitarian as well - in addition to the keys I have a sears 4way screwdriver tool, a bottle opener, and a p-38 can opener, a chinese lucky coin and an old NYC subway token.

My Key Chain Is Simple, It Has Keys On it, And A Special Medallion (From My Fiance) on it, With This Imprinted:Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.(Corinthians-134-7)

The only thing I have with my keys that is unnecessary is a .50 cal round (with a hole drilled through it to put on a metal ring) that came from an old WW2 firing range just off the coast near where I used to live. When the tide went out a couple of times a month to its maximum amount it was possible to walk out across the mud to a place where you could using a metal detector find ordinance. It could be quite dangerous because the military had not stopped using the site and my friend and I would quite regularly find things sticking out of the mud with fins. Most were dummies that had no charge but you could never be sure.
The .50 cal round I have is quite unusual in that it has no spin marks on it so it has never been fired. It was found in the wreckage (Just bits of Perspex from the cockpit and some twisted metal) of a crashed fighter plane and my bullet was probably from the magazine.

Not sure what that bullet on my key ring says about me, maybe just that I give value to things that have no intrinsic value but have a story.

If it was the same thing that happened to me the other day the idiot spam filter here prevented it because the text was too awesome to be posted. (Pretty sure that is why it prevents us anyway)

My ex girlfriend has a navel piercing which looks like a big keyring - she never lost her car keys or needed a pocket after that! lol
(true story but funny as hell)
