Kitty in the Drain Part 4: The Saga Continues...

posted 18 Sep 2012, 13:49
Well, the last couple of days have been quite hectic as I have adopted two new kittens recently abandoned by their mother. I was taking a walk in my neighborhood mid afternoon and saw these two kittens being attacked by soldier ants. They had bitten their paws and my friend and I decided to pick them up to pull the ants off. These babies were probably three weeks old at the time and since the mother acknowledges me and my friend as trustworthy I thought it would be okay. I thought wrong. I waited for a couple hours and came back out and saw the mother was at a distance with the kittens whom were meowing their mouths off. I wasn't quite sure what to make of this so I decided if the mother did not go to her kittens by tomorrow I would know she has rejected them. So a day passes and the mother does not go to them. I decided if she were not going to them then I would persuade her. I did and she attacked them as they approached her. I couldn't believe it.

That's when I decided to adopt them and bring them over to my house. most of the kittens which were already there were the same age so they accepted the two just like Pooh. So now three days have passed and I'm feeding them the best I can, slowly introducing cat food as well as bottle feeding. It's a long process, but it's working in my favor.

I'm thinking of buying food for kittens as I only had adult food for the mother and the other male cats, Johnny and Jerry, whom are tolerant of their current situation. Looking for support here as well as advice from you guys.

My maid decided to give them a bath using the garden hose.huffy Had to think fast, so I took out three tissues and dried them the best I could. They're sorta dry now, but the ground they walk on is very wet. She says they do a lot of poo and pee on the walkway, but I think she's punishing them cos of that.mad The mother helped out the best she could I carried the wet kittens to her so she could lick the wet spots away. She did a pretty good job, but it was Pooh whom I had to dry myself. Even Johnny pitched in which is a surprise.shocked

How much do you pay your maid? I'll do it for half as long as I get to play with the kittens.
