Sarabjit Singh gets Pakistan President Zardari's pardon, to walk free

ISLAMABAD: After being on the death row for 20 years over bombing charges, Indian national Sarabjit Singh is being released with Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari today commuting his death sentence.

Zardari commuted Sarabjit's death sentence to life term which he has already completed having been in jail beyond 14 years. Therefore he is being released.

The 49-year-old Sarabjit, convicted and sentenced to death for alleged involvement in a string of bombings in Punjab in 1990 that killed 14 people has maintained his innocence and said that his was a case of "mistaken identity".

Zardari has directed authorities to release him if he has completed his prison term, official sources said.

To all those idealists and morons who keep saying that 'He might have done it' - it might be true, it may not be. We are not to judge that. There are many such ppl who have been falsely accused just because they could not get the right guy.. One of my friends was imprisoned for 6 months for something he didnot do. So i know how much it hurts (thats an understatement) when they cant do anything about it and are locked up. Some moron blows something up and someone else gets the blame. The world is not perfect my friends, and we are not helping it any more by judging such stories. Grow up, listen to the guy's side and then decide who is the big bad wolf.

Terrorists are brainwashed to believe that Americans are raping women and killing them in Cuba (as if we were friends). Their beliefs drive them to sabotage, destroy and kill. To them they believe they are innocent and just trying to protect their country by blowing up their own citizens.
I listen to both sides, but you also have to know, they see things differently and blowing up innocent people isn't immoral, it's more of a fact of life for them.

I hope he gets some money to help compensate for the loss of his freedom & liberty. This is why you cannot support the death penalty, if he'd been executed the truth would have been swept under the carpet.
I bet the person who did do it is sweating now.

Now that he's out, he'll probably bomb something this time. If you did the time, you might as well do the crime.
