What the, you said it was an installer... this is nothing but a near 300 MB ordinary document... you expect all of us to know exactly where to put this thing after we extract it?

what does it say? maybe its just that you used the wrong application to open it, I use The Unarchiver, you can find it on the app store, its free. The Unarchiver can open most archives and if it still doesn't work, I would use the Stufflt Expander.
