Filmen utspelar sig år 2027 i en kaotisk värld där hopplöshet och uppgivenhet råder. Kvinnorna har oförklarligen förlorat förmågan att bli gravida och inget barn har fötts på 18 år. Men plötsligt dyker en ung gravid kvinna upp och en f d aktivist får i uppdrag att föra henne till en säker tillflyktsort. De måste ta sig från London till sydkusten genom ett England som mest liknar en krigszon.
