Please people report copyright infringement letters and emails on torrents25 August 2011, 14:24 (1 year ago)
PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR IP ADDRESS WHEN POSTING For the people who are aware of how the MPAA or the RIAA works by using trackers to catch people illegally downloading content it will greatly boost the morale of downloaders when people advise others that a letter or email has been sent. This is a p2p site which means as you are downloading you are also uploading at the same time. Downloading is illegal as well as uploading. So torrent trackers place themselves on here as an anonymous ip address in the torrent swarm waiting on someone to download their content and so they can whine to your Internet Service Provider. Then your ISP will sent you a letter or email stating they were informed that your IP Address was caught illegally uploading/downloading content. Mainly your isp can care less what you download as long as you are a well paying customer but after a large number of infractions they may release your name and you can be sued or harassed by the anti p2p organization. So use safety when downloading content and get a seedbox or a vpn and use peer block. Also find torrents older than a month old because normally it takes as little as a few days to over a month for the email or letter to be sent so after a torrent has seeded for a month read the comments and also be safe. thanks.... It's really ESSENTIAL to use a VPN, at the very minimum, when up- or downloading now. I've received several Charter.net threat letters, all originating from Tokyo TV's legal counsel thru Charter - because I had the nerve to download some Bleach and Naruto torrents at somebody's suggestions a couple months back. I started getting those Charter email threats well BEFORE the MPAA/RIAA law was passed here. Now I use nVPN.net to mask my activities, and Charter has simmered down.
I received 6 letters of copyright infringement from cox cable a couple months ago.I then tried a vpn (proxpn) but it drastically reduced my download/upload speed so i don't use it anymore. I got peerblock and it works like a charm!!!!!!!!!!! No letters no nasty emails ... nothing. People cap on peerblock but im a living witness it works. It really does I can see the peeping eyes spying on my connection... Proud to block their butts... lol. I now use safety in my torrent searches .

Also letter or emails can take from 1 day to a few weeks or longer to get out. Your ISP also does care what you do or they wouldn't send out the letters. Yeah you make them money, but constant complaints from agencies and what not will cause them to kick you. Also, for everyone 1 person they ban from there network they sign up 3 more. Peer blocker is iffy. Just because you're having good luck doesn't mean it works. More people think it's useless than those that think it work. If you want somewhat better protection, use a seedbox. If anyone wanna be 100 % safe don't download and if you do happen to download at least read the comments and make sure it is from a up loader with a good rep. Basically i could care less but i occasionally download but im now fida pretend like im 100 percent safe in a perfect state of existence when I know what I'm doing is wrong.
I don't have that kind of problem in my country (everything illegal is legal
