I need to convert a movie of 700mb from mkv format to avi format. I have tried couple of softwares such as dream web etc. but, since they are trial versions, I was able to convert the movie only up to 3minutes. and there is a watermark on the video. please let me know if there is any registered s/w available in kat

Well... actually katbeginner wants to play the file through USB connection on his LCD TV. Its the same thing as playing through standalone DVD player. You need .avi file, either Divx or Xvid.

Hi guys, I've read through all the replies here and I have a similar request. I need a way to convert files to avi, BUT I also need a way to resize the final output. Say, turn a 700mb mkv into a 175mb avi, for instance. Any suggestions? I've looked at two, FormatFactor and VirtualDub, but neither has an option to resize the final file output.

Can anyone answer when BURNING in CX why it fails on first DVD but successfully burns when replacing with new blank DVD all off same spindal all new > Any ideas as every dvd i burn costs me two blansk one that fails (sometimes at like 67% others straight away) and one that burns no problems all very strange though and doesnt always do it either
