I think rep points are only really important when your a new user, they give an idea of how your progressing on the site but once your over a few hundred they become fairly meaningless. Post counts too are meaningless, you could easily do all your posts in the image threads. I think what really matters is how you conduct yourself around the site and the help and advice you give to others, that's what sets people out from the rest and what all users should be aiming for.
