I like complex stories with mind games, strategies, tactics, psychology... and recommend the following animes:
Death Note: A classic. The mind games are brilliant and I really enjoyed them. Some characters are very unique like "L" the fascinating genius. It was a great show, alas not perfect: when you think a character has no way to escape, some rules pop out of nowhere and allow him/her to be saved by taking advantage of those rules and it kills some of the fun. Also, the (predictable) end was bad: too much over reactions. Code Geass: Scared at first by the mecha thing and some fan service, code geass has a surprisingly rich scenario with multiple (most of the time) intelligent twists, making the story evolves in an unpredictable way. The end was absolutly jubilant and well planned. A must see. Monster: An older anime of superior quality. The life of a dedicated brain surgeon changes for the worst when he saves a critically wounded boy. As the story move on, the unbearable truth behind the mysterious boy unveil, making the atmosphere darker and darker. The final showdown was excellent, but the end wasn't really satisfactory. Also, the story takes forever and evolves very slowly (75 ep). I normally don't really like anime but because of the first two series you named i started getting interested. I watched these series about 3 years ago and i loved every second of it (except maybe for the end of deathnote).
Do you know any other anime series like these? I've been writing some recommendation blogs so you can check those out. I also have a list on my blogs as to the anime I have which I recommend. yes, please take a look at Pringlescan3574 's blogs, they are informative and guides you to what that anime is about.. il post the complete list of my topp 25 anime.
