RSS problem with uTorrent [Solved]27 April 2012, 13:49 (1 year ago)
Hi, I started having a problem this week with the kat.ph RSS feeds I've been using with uTorrent, apparently after updating to this week's release. The torrents in the feeds no longer start automatically, and when I try to start them manually within uTorrent, it says
"Unable to load "[torrent name]": torrent is not valid bencoding!". I asked in the uTorrent forums, and they told me that the problem is that the kat.ph RSS feeds link to an html page, not a .torrent. Then I asked them why, then, would it have been working before, and they told me that "Maybe the feed changed this week in such a timeframe as to coincide with your update." So my question is, could this be true? Have the kat.ph feeds changed significantly this week as to make this error? Does anyone know what I should do to fix this somehow? Thanks in advance for your help. 20 replies before
Why don't you just download like everybody else with out problems
Seriously I haven't had any problems with kat or utorrent The only thing is that ie needed updating I just now signed up to start using the RSS feature. After adding 15 or so subscriptions come to find I'm also getting the bencoding error when trying to download via RSS in uTorrent. I gather from this thread so far there's nothing we can do except wait for someone to fix something? Like either the KAt guys or the uTorrent guys need to do something to restore compatibility, am I right?
I'm currently trying to get at least something going. So far the services karmorra, ezrss, and dailytvtorrents are all working for me. Sadly all three combined still don't match the content here on KAT. KAT and TPB (most desired - most content) are the two that don't work for me. (TPB doesn't throw the bencoding error but the torrents never start - might be due to my vpn). I suppose if I find enough aggregators I can eventually find most of the content I'm looking for... Please fix as soon as possible. The utorrent forum says its to do with the site
