Yes,L2000 Tribute,i also have an old USA L2000(89),a Fender acoustic and some crappy custom made Halos(worst endorsement deal, ever.)
The Tribute is the crappy foreign made one but try to get one, lol.Took me a month of constantly searching the internet. And you know what,it's the SAME thing. The old USA has a metal back cover and black bridge but they play and sound the same.
I had the honor of doing a brief video shoot with my older brother at G&L when Leo was still alive. Dude didn't talk much but when you started taking guitars, he wouldn't shut up.
So has G&L gone overseas?

They went overseas the day Leo died. But as someone who has been playing Leo made USA's for over 20 years,i can honestly say i've been wasting my money. The asian(mexican?idk)models are the same thing.
Wow! I kinda' figured as much. I have a Chinese Gibson Les Paul Standard. I paid 280 bux, but I had to find out. Plays like a Eppi, but my plan is to turn it in to a lamp, lol!
The crap in the US is so overrated, it's getting nauseating...

$280 will barely buy the foreign G&L pick upstitter. The "knock offs" go anywhere from $550 to $650.Still half the USA price.
That Fender "Hotrod" I got plays well, had to give it a fine tune tho'. The wiring assembly was completely blown. I'm in to the "stock" thing these daze...

As you might suspect from me being a G&L guy,i never liked fender, lol.Their best makes me cringe.mad
I guess if you add decent humbuckers they might be more my style.
Naaah! Grew up with em'. My first was a 65' Mustang. 12 years old, lol! Had a Champ Amp too. I love the sound and play of a Les Paul. I've just gotten' lazy in my old age. Too much lagatto, lool!

I would consider all those bands classic rock.I guess it's easy to just lump genres together when it's not your generation.Actually, probably progressive classic for crimson and early yes and genesis. But i can see how it kinda fits the smooth jazz genre.
