 Hello my KAT brothers and sisters. I come to you now to inform you about a growing threat to your security, your password, and your account on this site.
There is a link going around, a link that looks something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jOC6XFsdfQ When quoted, you see this: http://bit.ly/L9WLes This link brings you to a false re-login page where your account information is vulnerable to theft. This threat, though coming to our attention very recently, has proven to be a greater threat then we originally thought. If you have gotten a link like this, or think you have, you need to take the following action immediately: 1. Change your password 2. Logout then back in with your new password 3. Forward the PM to a mod or staff for investigation 4. Cease communication with whomever sent you the link, as you should assume their account has been compromised. This is a growing threat, and until this issue has been dealt with it is important that you exercise extreme caution with PMs, especially ones that contain links of any kind. We will keep you all posted on this matter. Until then, take appropirate security measures and actions, and go on about your online activity as usual. This issue is our top priority and will be handled swiftly and appropriately. I warned in here about the email scam but just in case people missed it I will reiterate it: It has come to our attention that people who have clicked this link and entered in their info to this page may also be in danger of email account hijacking. The same advice given here should be followed there as well. If you have clicked a link, change your email password also and check your sentbox to make sure you haven't been sending it out to your friends. This situation is being handled as swiftly as possible and until its fully resolved, do not send or click ANY links from members regardless of who its from or the url you see in the link!  |
