The 3930k is a Very Wise descision. Nobody gonna pay twice the price for the 3960, =300+/- passmark points. I've been able to get the i5-2500k pass the 11K mark, and that's Some Awesome Speed. Wish it coulda been on My budget instead of somebody else's Dime.
In the Good Ole Days, before I became Brain Dead, MSI out to make a name, provided My MOBOs and Crucial sent Me RAM by the case. Crucial doesn't even play in The Major Leagues anymore. So for a long time I flipped and flopped between Kingston and Corsair. Then around 2-3 Years ago I started using G-Skill for just about Every PC I built. Been real satisfied. Well.I Finally got an email from Tiger this morning saying My 6850 had been shipped. Once I get that in and the rest of the Games in the HD, I'll pass Her on to BAT.2. Gonna still have to get a Blu-Ray drive, but waiting for a while on if I shoud upgrade the little Anthlon 2x4?? I'll have to see where the FX and Phenom prices go after the Piledrivers are released. I've been doing some Laptop Window Shopping and Everything that I'd want is out of My price range. So I went back and re-checked the specs on Borg. So now if I can remember to put the right OS back in Her, Don't Laugh, I may be looking at a Major Overhaul.(?) I don't think I PMd You The Intel Link so You'll know Exactly what each CPU and Chipset Series is capable of, so I'll put it at the end. I Definately Pray You're going to be buiding in a CoolerMaster HAF Full Tower Case.(?) I've been "Cheaping Out" on the fans lately. I buy the Rosewill variable speed models with the controller. Throw Away the rheostat, and You have a Great Dual Ball Bearing fan on the Cheap. Since I put out way too much personal info in My post I'm getting ready to burn This Tag. So if You can't hit me with a PM or I un-friend You don't be surprised. I'll still be around as BAT until School starts, so just hit Me here. Gotta Run so here's the Intel link: * Just click Desktop* I was searching Laptops. . http://ark.intel.com/#mobile Bat.1425

thanks for pointing out COOLERMASTER HAF full tower! those are awesome lookin ones! I definitely am getting a CoolerMaster Case thats for sure. By the way, thanks for the intel link. Yeah talking about good ole days, I used to use MSI but i wont waste my time on them ever again. Crucial was heating up charts before i dont know why they simmered down lately. New cats are coming in the RAM show like the one i got the Mushkin. Corsair is always on top. Kingston was also making it big in ram showdowns. OCZ is a notable mention including G-skill. i used to use kingmax during the Athlon 64 days. Yea, I always claimed I was The Craziest Judge to ever wield a (Meat Tenderiser), Used one of those instead of a regular gavel. In my Court You could expect Tender Justice. Lost My Spell Check Button, and in too much a rush to look for it, or re-check Myself. I'll re-open My profile as soon as I get a chance,(Don't Need Off-Topic Warnings) but I need to go through the July budget parts I already have.
Crucial seems to be concentrating on the SSD market instead of trying to keep up with RAM specs. With the memory lapses I try to skick with one brand at a time so I don't get confused. With the SSDs its been pretty much the OCZ Agility 3 series. Trying to also stick with Asus MOBOs too. Finally got the hang of the UFO(sic) BIOS. MSI prices are just too high when You compared the Specs. MSI does deserve a (+1) on AMD uATX MOBOs though. They're the only Man. that still has a AM3 Socket,(*Not AM3+*) Micro ATX MOBO that has True USB 3.0 that's SATA-3 6Gb/s capable. Then again priced around $140.00 US +/-, getting a ATX Board and new case makes more sense unless Someone wants a Really Portable Gaming Rig. I'm running 4x4 16G sets of G-Skill RAM in My desktops. Borg has a Kingston Blues 2x2 4G set running at 667Mhz. When I Finally reformat to remove 7-32 and re-install 7-64, Stupid BAT!, I'll flash Her and install a BIOS from a Acer Laptop that has a t4500 with 800Mhz RAM. Then My t3200 goes from a stock 1.994 Ghz to around 2.167 Ghz. With the t4500s selling around $20.00 aka half the price of a t3200 or t3400 on Ebay, I'm seriously thinking about a retrofit. Only thing holding Me back from doing that is the GRAPHICS, See I'm On Topic. I bought the 5450c thinking I would put it in the eGPU. Through the fog, I finally realised that the slot in the eGPU is PCI, Not PCIe. No Way I could even think about trying to solder for 5-6 Hours! So I'll never get better than 1600x900 Resolution or Below. Time for Me to run and go Play with a few PCs. I'll just leave a Word of Warning for any Gamers who read This. If You buy the new Batman A.C. Game, be sure to get the GOTY edition. 10 Yr Old BAT.2 opened His Xbox game Tues afternoon and finished the game Fri Morning. Thank God for the expansion pack. Hopefully that will keep Him busy through the weekend. God Bless You All, and I'll PM You soon Droid. Battelready838
Thats a great build. You should choose Evga for the mobo because they offer a lifetime warranty. AS for the cpu , that's a good choice . I helped my friend overclock that to about 5.2ghz.
thanks battleready for your reaffirmation. yes, EVGA is actually number 1 in my list... 2 and 3 are blank.. asus and asrock are at number 4 and 5 respectively. you know.
PSU there is not much to debate on. but what would you recommend? I think I'll be using a single High-End GPU. 1. Brand? 2. Wattage rating? in addition, I saw an Antec Water-Air Cooler for 2011chipsets. I'm kinda really interested. Not unless there is something else out there that you might want me to take a look at and consider? Have a nice sunday! SHEDATALLI568
i think amd ati is best
That's what you think... each people has their choice !
![]() ![]() ![]() Thats a great build. You should choose Evga for the mobo because they offer a lifetime warranty. AS for the cpu , that's a good choice . I helped my friend overclock that to about 5.2ghz. . You musta studied Fissionics? Most of the OC results I've read looked be done by "Math Geeks". They All limit out around 4.5GHz, so I'm thinking,(God That makes My Brain Hurt), that They're all going strictly by the numbers. I'd already stopped driving except for emergencies by the time the 30k/60x CPUs came out, so I never got to Smoke any for Free. Since I Can't Quit smoking them Darn Cigarettes, I can't afford to buy one Myself to play with. . OK Droid, Now the GTX 690 looks awful impressive on paper(?), Well, Manufacturers Websites. But Price, Availability, and Real World Results, make it a Not to be Considered Just Yet. So the GTX 680 and AMD 7970 are still The Top Dogs in the fight. . Since My Brain was already hurting from thinking, I went ahead and did a lil more. When Most, if Not All of Us think of installing dual GPUs in a PC, we automatically go to Matched Cards in CFX or SLI. Right? Climbing out of that box, just as some MOBOs Don't disable the integrated Graphics when a card is installed in a slot. So Can You also use different Makes and Models of GPU cards in a PC. . Then You can use The High-end card strictly when Gaming, and a Low-end card can be used when Surfing, or Pillaging and Plundering etc. Save a Lot of Electricity, but Mostly Importantly, Wear and Tear on the higher end components. Since You've got the Bucks, and the room, definitely go with 1000W+, if not 1200W+, on the PSU. In my mid-tower CM-430-Black, after putting in a 700W Continuous PSU, trying to force in a 120mm fan against it was a Major Hassle! So I'm running several of the fans off a laptop charger when I Level-Up. . Speaking of Leveling-Up, I wanna know if You don't mind Me Pestering You Battleready? I Always want a second opinion on everything I do. With My AMD 2x4-650/ aka 2x3/ aka Only Phenom 2x4 w/o L3 cache, the Core Temp wants to run around 70C long B4 I can get to 20% OC. I even sold My Good RAM and dropped to a set of 1333MHz so I could get the cas ratio down to 4, Same Thing. I Quit "Water Cooling",(almost), when My "STASH" of Liquid Freon was gone. Unless I can find some smuggled in from Iran with a shipment of R-12, I need to find a replacement. Living where 96% Relative Humidity is considered LOW kinda limits My choices. . More later when the Hands and Brain stop hurting. |
