That was far from helpful and as I say, he missed the point of the comment and was flippant. He got what he deserved for that crack, as for as I am concerned, and for that alone. I don't know him and it doesn't matter; why should it? - I'd have responded the same way to anyone.

This thread should really be called " All Users Please Read regarding Repetition" Im so bored of hearing about rep, theres more to life then a few blue numbers by your name.. However dont neg me down for this

asbo, I'm, not bothered. Seems as though the point of my first post in this thread has been missed by just about everyone that has responded, so I'll go back to not bothering with these threads, as I had been for the last couple of months, because everyone is just so damn inclined to take one side or the other, become polarised and make assumptions.
For me the whole thread is an argument for removing rep and achievements completely - but then I am sure that the rest of you will still find something else to take sides, become polarised and argue over. I'm fed up of it, so I'll leave you to it.

Jammor841 , I don't recall exactly how long this issue has been on the boards here, but it's been awhile.. a week or so. A week in the nano World of the Internet is like a month in real life!

Even though I am sure your rep points are very important to you, and they have served us all as a little "bubble gum perk" for our participation here over time, the fact truly is: Your Rep Points are a "fun thing" - they don't advance you to any major degree in status here on this website.

What advances your status here in the KAT Cove is:

1) regular participation - logging in, saying hello, participating in the forum discussions by contributing your opinions, giving your vote for other's ideas and contributions (either Yea or Nay), and "being here" with us visibly!
..
2) Uploading good torrents. SEEDING good torrents you've downloaded!
..
3) Making website improvement suggestions!
..
4) Taking part in the gruesome, daunting, overwhelming task of protecting our database, our torrents, and each other from outside attacks by the ogres, goblins, trolls, and spammers that regularly attack us! Examining the torrent uploads to find the fakes (especially the ones that might contain a virus). Reporting the spammers! Taking out the garbage daily, basically!

5) Notifying Mod Staff when torrents are not in the right category so they can be moved, etc. Cleaning up the mess, basically!

Those are the things that will get you promoted. If you upload good torrents (20 of them or more) you get promoted to Verified Uploader.

THAT's what counts around here, not those little candies the system tosses in your candy box.
