Well! I grew up loving boxing AND MMA. ROCKY =D But when I was a kid.. MMA was purely.. MA.. There weren't any big named brands attached to martial arts other than in films. Not in America anyway.. Maybe it's because it came around in my lifetime like some giant martial arts fad.. but I don't like MMA as much as a well rounded match of boxing.

Its Boxing for me but if I had my way we would go back to the days of Duelling (pistols/swords).
That would sort the grain from the chaff.lol

I did used to be an admirer of the noble art of pugilism but have not watched any boxing in quite some time. MMA is something I would be more interested in if there were more stand up fights. I know wrestling is a skill but it just does not entertain me to see two nearly naked men rolling around on the floor anywhere near as much as watching two nearly naked men punch or kick each other in the face. Call me old fashioned, but I like my violence to involve a bit more blood and broken teeth, than the kind of fight that involves a man gasping for breath and then passing out while another man gently cradles his sleeping head. lol

Gotta go with boxing.

Now if you role back the UFC to pre-95 era when WOW sports and Art Davie were producing them, then I would go with that. Those were some real gladiator matches. Took guys who were considered the best from multiple disciplines of sizes from 5'7" 170lbs to 6'4 280lbs and who ever was standing at the end of the bracketed tournament was king. Now that was awesome!
Now, to me, all the fighters look and fight exactly the same. It goes on the same until one of them gets a luck strike or catches the other guy slipping in a submission. It has it's moments. And there is definitely more pageantry put towards it than Boxing in the last decade. But I will still take watching the "floating boxer" any day.
But that's just me.
