Patrick Collins INC sued22 September 2012, 03:17 (8 months ago)
apparently those guys are considered trolls
As of August 15, 2012, The Pietz Law Firm has begun representing clients who have been sued by Patrick Collins, Inc. in the State of California. Like Malibu Media, LLC, Patrick Collins, Inc. is another plaintiff that has been very active this year filing so-called copyright troll lawsuits. The Malibu Media cases and the Patrick Collins cases are similar in many ways, although there may be some differences. As an initial matter, as the Firm did with Malibu Media, the Firm has insisted that Patrick Collins, Inc. comply with its duty under the Central District’s Notice of Related Cases Rule. If you have gotten a letter from your ISP about a lawsuit by Patrick Collins, or if you are being contacted by Patrick Collins directly, contact attorney Morgan E. Pietz to explore your options. ah, here is what you need to read you really need to read the entire article
a snipet It borderline offends me when people stick to their “I’m not guilty, they can’t do anything to me” viewpoint because this is simply not true. The so-called copyright trolls have the power and force of the law to haul you into court and force you to spend tens of thousands of dollars to defend yourself or face a default judgement (essentially a finding of “guilty” because you did not timely file an answer once you were named). Thanks everyone, I just talked to a lawyer and said that the subpoena is just a John Doe and no exact name, there are 34 other does on the subpoena so he just simply said to wait it out untill i get another letter. This is not his first dance there are others he said that called him about it and simply said the same thing. Im just hoping to get this over with and they will just drop the case.
never admit is rule one. if it is a subpoena then yes get an attorney. if you ignore it they will find you guilty in your absence. most likely they will put out an Arrest Warrant and hunt you down for Failure To Appear (FTA), never heard of being found guilty in abstensia. |
