Taiwanese Motherboard manufacturers have leaked details of AMD’s Upcoming Bulldozer CPU’s and Release Date. According to them, AMD will start Mass Production of B2 chips in August and the processors will officially launch in September (Q3 2011). A recent cinematic trailer has also exposed Bulldozer Launch Date of 19th September 2011 which you can see here.

The AMD Bulldozer lineup consists of 32Nm SOI based chips which will be supported by the AM3+ Socket featuring the AMD 990FX Chipset. The first Q3 2011 lineup which will be released in September would consist of Four processor models, The FX-4100, FX-6100, FX-8100 and FX-8150.

The FX-8150 will be the flagship Bulldozer CPU featuring eight cores, Clock speed of 3.6Ghz (Turbo – 4.2Ghz), 8MB L3 Cache, 1866mhz+ DDR3 Support and a Max TDP of 125W. This would be replaced with a second lineup which AMD Plans to release in Q1 2012. Following are the 8 Core processors to be included in the latter lienup:

AMD FX-8120
AMD FX-8170

The AMD Bulldozer FX-8170 will dominate the Bulldozer lienup with its massive 3.9Ghz Stock speed with turbo upto 4.5Ghz. Coupled with 8 Cores, 8MB L3 Cache, DDR3 1866+mhz Support, AM3+ compatibility and 125W TDP.
While the FX-8120 features a 3.1Ghz Stock speed and turbo upto 4.0Ghz, TDP remains at 95W. Other specs are same. These aren’t the final clocks of the two 8 Core models as they’re yet to be determined hence we may see a few ups and downs in the Mhz.

Just an update on my FX4100. Before I go into it I just want to say that I am and have always been a AMD fan. Now with that said I have it on GA-990FXA-UD3 and was very disappointed. I have since put a Phenom IIx4 960T and couldn't be happier. The 960T is unlocked to a Phenom IIx6 and is much better in almost everything I've tried then the FX4100.
Maybe the piledriver with the updates and the changes that AMD is making which has pushed the release date out later this year instead of March or April will be better. If so I'll go with it.
FX 4100 $109.99
Phenom IIx4 960T $114.99

now youve thrown me into a Fx4100 V Phenom ii 960t debate, got the rest of my build components just need to make the decison between
them CPUs...dizzy

do I go for the slightly better phenom performance or gamble on the bulldozer patch putting the bulldozer back on top???

Go with the 960T. Overall it's a better performing CPU. The bulldozers are nice, but they are very underpowered VS. the Phenom line.

I'm always suspicious when a PC component gets this much hype, specially before it's even released..
Now that it IS released, what's the rush ??..tomorrow there'll be an even better one because technology is moving so fast.
I'm staying with my AMD Phenom II X6 1100T...I'm not saying the Bulldozer wont live up to it's hype, but why change for no real reason..

The X6 is such a sexy CPU. But yeah the bulldozer as it stands is a flop for all the hype.

I wouldn't get a Bulldozer CPU even if I had the money. Thing issue with the 8core Bulldozers are that they aren't actually 8cores, they are 4 cores with 4 virtual cores. If you compare the 4core Bulldozer to the Phenom II X4, the X4 wins handsdown.
