Well they did it again.

Once again the hacker group Anonymous has hacked into crucial websites, messing up our everyday life, while they hide behind masks. A danish union called '3F' website was today closed by these hackers.

A website that ten of thousands Danes use each month to get what we call "Dagpenge".
"Dagpenge" is basically a service you pay for each month, and if you would happen to get fired by your employee you will get money = Dagpenge.

Now the sites are down, which mean that some Danes (including myself) wont get payed for the next pay day. This means I will have to go to the bank and lend money to pay my rent and to be able to eat.

The case is according to a hacker called "Elen0r", that the union 3F wont allow a restaurant in a smaller city to join another union. So because of this conflict we have to suffer.

I used to consider myself an Anonymous supporter in issues like ACTA, but after todays event I think they're a bunch of immature, wimpy nerds. And I ask of them; please, please stop acting like you are fighting for the weak n' justice, when all you do is ruin the economy for so many Danes.

Sounds like you take things a little to direct.
Just because some people decide to express themselves somewhat explosive. Doesn't mean that this thread is necessary to close. And if you would pay attention to the entire thread, I already explained this on page 2.

Please look up the word punk and vandal and try not to tell me how to express myself. The words are quite fitting.

Also, it was not overgeneralization. It was specifically for the Anon group.

Also they are criminals and criminals are judged by the public and by judges.

very interesting debate

Anonymous has proven time and time again that they are just naughty children with a "I know you are, so what am I" attitude. They heralded themselves as the cyber Robin Hood to us but turns out that they are just those nerds (in a non offensive way, I class myself as a nerd) from school who became the bullies they used to hate.

Exactly......Naughty kids. The medium in which you practice your vandalism doesn't change the fact. And when you say regular society, well, sorry to tell you that the internet is part of regular society now. Its not international waters mate.

I don't totally disagree with that. I am all for them letting Governments and and global corporations know that they are not as untouchable as they imagine they are. But they should have stopped short of interruption social aide to people in need. That is definitely not cool.
That being said, in my view, the bully in this scenario is is a multi-national corporation effectively stealing a family owned businesses lively hood and that of it's employees buy refusing to sell them unemployment insurance. because they decided to unionize their work force. How ever you personally feel about unions, no other business should be allowed to effort that kind of power over an individuals right's to run their business the way they think is in their best interest. I'm sorry but that should just never be allowed to stand. If they steal away your right provide for yourself, it is over. We truly are nothing more than indentured servants.

I understand the fact that we are indentured servants as well as the next man. I understand my place in the food chain and my powerlessness to change the way the world is run. It comes down to class war. BUT, I didn't get to choose that Anonymous could make decisions about what is fair or not. I dont get a vote as to what causes they take up. I had no say in their group meetings. They purpose to speak for the downtrodden, the little man, the small business owner etc etc etc but they speak for no one but themselves and therefore are on the wrong side of the fence. They put themselves in a class above.

...I think the debate here is centred around uni-lateral action being taken.....
...in the not so recent past there would have been a multi-lateral action which disrupted things in a similar way but with the approval of a majority....
....unfortunately, unions these days don't act for the common good, they act for the good of the people who pay them (and before we have any naysayers...there are any number of historical 'crossings' by one union for another to bring weight to an issue).....
...this leaves us with groups like anonymous et al who are ?maybe? acting from a social conscious but who do so randomnly and without regard for the little people whom they affect....

Well said tchorbus1757 . This being the whole of my point. When a group purports to be a spokesman or mouthpiece for others but then acts without regard for those it says it acts for.....is it not the same as the government anyway? lulz democracy huh? Its all smokescreen so that a group of children can pretend they have a reason to act the way they do.

So one day in merry old England, Robin Hood and his merry men stole the Sheriff of Nottingham's retirement fund, very good. But then he gave it to my poor neighbour whom I do detest for allowing his dog to defecate on my lawn on a regular basis.
