AVG has a good free security suite as does Malwarebytes. I have also heard good things about Microsoft Security Essentials.
Kaspesky and Bitdefender are probably the best if you have a little coin to spend or cough know where to get a crack.

If I find a virus that refuses removal, I open the side of the PC tower and pour in a gallon of water. Any liquid will do, but water is the cheapest. It gets rid of EVERYTHING!! Give it a shot...wink

I have Windows 7 and Microsoft really improved their firewall so that's the one I use along with free Panda antivirus, Microsoft Essentials (doesn't seem to create any conflicts or bugs so far) and Malwarebytes Pro with real time protection.
