Hello all,
I decided to fiddle with some of my settings on my Bittorrent client and now nothing's downloading fast at all. If I 'stop' the download and resume it, it'll shoot up to 1mb/s+ but then drop down to under 10kb/s after roughly 20seconds.
I'm just wondering what settings everyone else has their Bittorrent client set at (mainly the settings under 'Preferences' and then 'Bandwidth')?

did you select initial seeding ?

It's not currently selected, is that good or bad?

It all depends on one's connection's speed, computer, bit torrent client, etc. I use tixati and after reading blogs and articles on how to optimize it I get maximum speed possible.

I've never had these issues before though. Everything was downloading smoothly until yesterday when I was fiddling with settings. I changed my settings so it would allow 500 incoming connections instead of 150. I then changed it back to 150 and since then, it's been downloading slowly. My internet speed can easily reach above 2mb/s and the torrents I'm downloading have a fair amount of seeds to leechers.

Check your connection setings please..Make sure your download speed limit and upload speed limit are set to "0" which means unlimited!

There's something really f'''d up with my Bittorrent. I'm downloading files that are 1.2 GB. When I look at how much I've downloaded (of that file) it says 1.9GB.


I then started to pay close attention to my downloads. Whenever a download nearly finishes (100%) it goes down to 99.8% complete. It then hits 99.9% and then a few seconds later, it goes to 99.8%.


I think I'll just uninstall and reinstall Bittorrent as this is too odd for me :P

I uninstalled Bittorrent, re-downloaded it, installed it and now everything is downloading at a great speed. Thanks for your help everyone :)
