Can you recommend a good basic video editor?07 May 2012, 02:35 (1 year ago)
Hi there,
Hoping a knowledgeable, attractive, intelligent, witty, and charming user out there can recommend an easy-to-use but effective video editing program for use on Windows 7. I don't want anything as huge and complex as Adobe Premiere (which I had trouble installing due to language pack issues). I want to just load in the .mt2 1080p HD files from my Sony camera, trim them, add a nice menu page and then export it as an .MKV so I can watch it on my new HDTV via my media player. I also want to be able to export two versions of the same movie--one as an .MKV and one as a normal DVD (ie as VIDEO_TS .vob files) so I can burn it and send to my parents, who don't have a 1080 capable TV. I have tried VideoPad (crashes) and AVS Video Converter (crashes importing files) and Nero (too big, and won't install as English language as my PC runs a Japanese OS). Any help with this very sincerely appreciated. Thank you!! AVS Video Editor

Dude first of all your question is not much clear by video editing what you meant?Which kind of editing you want to do?Well still some simpe video editiors are.And dude premiere pro isn't ough yo get a simple thing how tugh video editior is(in ur sight)That simple it will make your work.Just see some youtube tutorials on premier pro practise sme 3-4 days you'll be master of it!! i'll give u a proper chain of videos if u want :) 1.windows live movie maker 2.Vegas pro(need youtube tutorials to practise). 3.Photoshop CS6 Your reply is "not much clear" ![]() ![]() Thanks everybody. All I am attempting to do is make/edit a home movie of my kids shot @ 1080 on my Sony camcorder --one 1080p version for streaming to my home TV, and one regular version exported onto DVD for my parents.
This is turning into a nightmare for me. I successfully installed Corel X3 and edited a really nice home movie, exported it as a Bluray and also AVCHD mpeg (about 11 gig each) and tried to play them on my new panasonic telly. It starts out awesome and then gets unwatchable--choppy, or the video stops and the sound keeps going. Either my Buffalo media player / HDD combo can't handle it, or there is a problem with Corel creating the file. As my buff LTV100 media player works fine with DL'd 1080 mkv movies, I am wondering if it is not Corel. It also shits itself trying to make an HD mp4 file. So I will try the Sony program next. SIGH. I almost long for the days of VHS. Any ideas, anyone? |
