 why is it that soo many users feel the need to post comments on fake torrents saying fake. there is a button at the top of the screen it says report, if a torrent is fake report it, dont thumbs down or comment on it as mods and staff look at this as rep abuse. i feel we have a ton of users that need to read the kat rules.
kat rules It's been stressed SOOOOO many times: the comments in the torrents are for A/V and maybe a short "good", or "blurry", or "jumps". NOTHING else! If the torrent is fake, report it! Don't just comment in the torrent, it doesn't do any good there. If you find a fake torrent. Report it with reason why it's fake. Don't give feedback or comments. Reason why it's like that is because you gain +1 rep from reporting and +1 from feedback and +1 for comment. Doing "3 reports" on torrent (reporting it as fake, comment it's a fake and giving it a thumbs down because it's fake). When you report a torrent it says it's reported. capiche?  10 replies before

Waht does this have to do with free speech? Fake Torrents, Site Problems maybe or just General Discussions.... but free speech? @sbo is that you???? Who?
   I realize this is probably going to get me voted down but... hypocritical much? Here's one of the rules:
■05- Sig limit - 100x500. And yet a few of the people in here saying "Follow the rules!" are wearing banners over this size. If you want people to follow the rules, lead by example... they may not read but they aren't blind either and this is a really good example of how the water gets muddy. (Which by the way I happen to think are totally awesome sigs, the best on KAT, I'm just making the .. everyone bends them a little don't be so adamant about following them... arguement.. lol) Last edited by ObsceneBlush634, 9 months ago  I don't mind when people comment that a torrent is fake as long as they report it too. It's handy to me when looking through torrents and you hover over the comments to what people said about the torrent.
I understand why people would think it's rep abuse but with all that is going on here now a days, I thought that nobody cared about the points anymore. Or anything even pertaining to "rep abuse" for that matter. Not saying it isn't there, just that I definitely don't see it.
If it isn't in the written rules, but some unwritten rule, you can't really expect people to abide by it. Common sense would dictate that you report the fake and leave one comment that it is a fake as a warning to downloaders who may not know how to spot a fake, until the torrent mods have an opportunity to remove it. That is helping KAT's reputation for the place for be for solid torrent downloads. It isn't rep abuse. I know when I first started using the site it helped me a couple times. P.S. And one more thing! KickassTorrents is huge, so if we missed something in the rules, it doesn't mean that it's okay to do so. If you don't see a 'no smoking' sign it doesn't mean that you can smoke here! We aren't talking about something that is commonly perceived as inappropriate or disruptive that is so in most situations. We are talking about a pretty specific situation. So that point is mute.
