Boy, 11, boards plane to Italy at Manchester Airport without passport The boy got through a security screen by mingling with families going through Terminal 1 on Tuesday afternoon. He was discovered while the Jet2 plane was in mid-air after passengers became suspicious. A Manchester Airport spokesman said a number of airline staff had been suspended. The transport secretary said it was "incredibly concerning". The youngster had been shopping with his mother at Wythenshawe Civic Centre when he went missing. Staff at the centre were alerted and checked CCTV which showed the boy leaving the complex before he made his way to the airport. The airport spokesman said the boy passed through security checks but was not asked to show any documentation. The boy went straight to the nearest aircraft that was boarding - the flight to Rome - where he was also missed during a head-count on board the plane so the mother why didnt she keep a eye on her son qustion is ? is it bad parenting on her part or just a wild child 30 replies before

At eleven years of age a kid knows right from wrong. At least I did when I was eleven in the 1990's. A stunt like that would have gotten my hide tanned by my dad.
you are so right, Simon!! The story reads like he's a 4 year old leg hustler but at 11, he planned this whole damn thing..
I would never leave one of my kids unattended. Not in this day and age. You see...this is why God created Super Glue. +100 River, I travel a lot to ("not need to mention country name I guess"), and always my child's are closer to me than my own underwear close :( i dont blame the mom. that sounds like a crazy little kid, she turns around for one second and hes on a plane to italy? but thats not "kids just being kids" either. this isnt some normal kid stuff, this is some jason bourne type ****. i dont know how shes been keeping track of him for his first 11 years an i damn sure dont know how shes gonna do it for another 7...
Last edited by ItsTyrone901, 10 months ago I can't imagine the reason a kid that young would just wander off and get aboard a plane in a completely different direction than where his very own mother was.
The answer is yes, bad parenting. I say if that kid wasn't too concerned about staying near his mother and his mother wasn't keeping a watchful eye on him...there has to be a reason. I would calculate that perhaps the child doesn't get enough attention from his mother (hence the carefree choice of wandering SO far from her presence) and/or the mother mistreats him leading him to not care where he ends up away from his mother as a mother is a childs strongest pillar. This is just my opinion. But i venture a guess that it's one of those reasons. This is just my opinion. But i venture a guess that it's one of those reasons. I have to agree, yet i believe there is more to than that. Let us look at today's world . Violence abound, on TV, in games, on the street, next door and at home. Its everywhere, the more your exposed to it the more jaded you become. There is less parenting happening and more watch a move or play your video game and leave me alone. The things that kids see on TV in games stir the imagination make them believe that its ok to be that way. No guidance, no honey that's make believe its not real, you cant do that or act that way. Some parents probably don't even realize there is an age guideline on games and movies, and probably don't care. So you have no home life to speak of and the belief that whats in movies and games is ok ,and can really happen. So suddenly your kid decides to do whatever they want, with no thought to repercussion, that's ok if it doesn't work out ill just reset. So in a nut shell bad parenting(oh wait, no parenting). |
