 MOST IMPORTANT:-->Plz don't ask for promotion from staff members becoz it will only minimize ur chances of becoming SU,the top notches do see ur work carefully n when the time arrives they give u the status of SU as a reward.
IT can be achieved only by helping...(either help mods by reporting fakes or by helping members in threads i.e community..) But try to be active in much possible ways.. I will discuss both the ways.. 1st way.... U can report against fakers,u may get the SU spot if u do so correctly... .................................................................................................................................................... see the complete set of tutorial by sundox19893 for further clarifications on spotting fakes.. here... As everyone knows kat has its fakes. There are some guidlines to follow in reporting such fakes in which will be discussed below[by Horrorhound18372 ]: #1 If you think it is fake download the torrent and check it first before reporting it! Just because a few others of the same name have been reported does not mean all of them are fake. Not all RAR's are fake be sure you check them before reporting them! Think of it this way: You just joined a site that someone said is great and you want to share your collection here as well, but, you don't know much about uploading so you think rar's and zips will work better or are smaller. You spend an hour or more on it and upload then it gets reported as fake. #2 Give the reason why it is fake! There are tons of reasons such as Codec Scams, Surveys for passwords, Chopped up credits on repeat, Other movies edited to fit the time of the said video, virus, Spam, and so on. Most will be p/w torrents and codec crap. Post this in the report reason! Don't just post FAKE! give us the reason why, it helps us a lot. #3 Viruses this is more detail explaining than anything else. I have been in the torrent world for almost 2 years now on a few sites and I have never found a virus attached to a video, it is seriously rare to find an avi or mkv virus. I can understand if you are spooked on downloading software that might have a virus, for this you can use virustotal.com or run a virtual machine or use an AV. Remember though that many pirated software will ping as a trojan, this is normal. #4 Reporting users This is a bit more complex than fakes; You can do 1 of many things on this topic. For one you can link a mod to said user and give an explanation on why the user is in the wrong, you can pm the user [keep it friendly please, last thing we want is for you and a member getting into virtual fisty cuffs] and inform them of the thing that needs their attention. Or you can report them via report button. Above all keep all personal feelings out of reports! Also if it is a pm'd based thing we will need the forwarded pm's sent to us to determine our course of action always! If you think you see a problem with a member pm a mod, there are lots of us on kat and we can help. #5 PMing members LittleD did a thread on this topic and I'm just brushing up on it a bit: Be nice and polite to the user no matter what! Even if they start raging on you. If they call you every name in the book just say something like: I'm sorry you feel this way and I will pm a mod to help you on this problem. I hope to see you as an active member in the kat community. Have a nice day! and then pm one of us. At no point do you also go raging on them. If even after a mod has dealt with the problem and you get pm'd by them again and they are still going on pm us again and forward the message. We will gladly stop a member from hating on you. I hope this helps and comes in handy in your super user journeys! Revision2: #6 DO NOT KEEP REPORTING ONE TORRENT TILL IT IS DELETED[MOST IMP] If you report a torrent and the torrent is not deleted do not report it again and again until it gets deleted! This causes a lot of extra work for mods and makes us angry. Same goes for users if your report is removed it means the mod found nothing wrong with the user do not hit the report button again! #7 Retags If a user retags another persons torrents it is not grounds for deletion, just means they won't get VU status. Update 3: #8 unknown formats If you come across a file in a (seemingly) unknown format and you can't launch it in your usual software (according to what the file is supposed to be - i.e you're unable to play a film in your normal media player)... please research that file type, download any necessary software and try it again before reporting. Some files require codecs that are not fakes so be sure you know it is a fake! We had a ton of reports of legit torrents when the k-lite pack was updated all where fine, it was just that the people reporting them did not update their sw. Just because it is an unseen format does not mean it is fake! #9 Reporting users because of their [1 or 2] comments on uploads Do not report the user because he said the/your torrent is crap or he/she said "Virus don't dl" just report the comment not the user unless he/she is clearly spamming or has more than 1 comment in need of editing! ........................................................................................................................................ 2nd way.... u can help in community by helping mods in torrent category changing thread: here... and by posting threads that needed to be moved or trashed here... also by helping members by fulfilling their requests in request threads: here...
