Follow Rons advice, get the older version, and you will have no issues. There is no reason to go to a newer one or change clients.wink
Hey to you all It worked a Treat thanks to you guy'sbiggrin! It was mainly my fault as I had originally Installed UT incorrectly in: CDoc-SetUsersApplication Data - I had updated UT but it was only listed as Tools/Applic's/Magnet/Default and it was a Dud Location for UT to work from (i guess) so I completely uninstalled that UT and made sure the latest UT install went to CPrograms and then reset "Magnet" to UT Via Programs Use Other (Browsed) and it is working a treat as you can see I am very "chuffed" to think I could do all that stufftongue! I guess if I keep at it for another 22 years of self learning from forums and folk's like all of you I may even be able to figure out how to turn this thing Off and On Cheers to you all' and thank you for all that you do Dashasmile

ah thats better this thread was a mile off the page lol...

xt=urn:btih: and that is the Standard magnet link string, this code if it ever changes will sink torrents to the end!.. so it won't change.. another thing is the client your using (Speaking as a whole here not to anyone specific) both utorrent and Vuze is compitable with this code...
there you go i was bored and added some info....

just wait for a lil' bit longer to start it up. because the program need to create a torrent in temp folder and boot the torrent to the program. usually in program data folder which is hidden i supposed.

To help anyone who might have this problem, I did what Selwyn Blonde did but in a simpler way.
I already had the most recent version of uTorrent (3.3 in this case), so in Firefox I just went to Tools/Options/Applications and chose to associate magnet links with uTorrent by manually browsing to point it at c:program filesutorrentutorrent.exe.
When I first opened that option in FF, it showed magnet links were already associated with uTorrent but there was a big clue - no icon. It was showing the default windows "generic icon" rather than the uTorrent-specific icon. When I was done, the uTorrent icon was shown in this choice in FF.
Hope that helps someone!
