 At a Theater in Aurora, Colorado there are reports of a mass shooting during the midnight premiere of the Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises". Reports so far say 14 are confirmed dead and up to 20 injured.
What is the USA coming to? Why is our Country so violent? What will be next, metal detectors at movie theaters? I am seriously angry about this. You can't feel safe anywhere anymore. Anyone else have thoughts on this? 140 replies before
 You didn't read my comment. I was speaking of guns as a deterrent. Psychopaths feed on the helplessness of others. And you're assuming to much. A huge firefight may be probable. What's also probable is a quick and efficient end to a situation. Psychopaths aren't in the right state of mind, and most probably wouldn't contemplate the consequences, and those that did, probably wouldn't care anyway. If everyone had guns, all that would happen is that in any threatening situation, people would end up blowing everyone away. This is what fist fights are like. If we replace fists with guns, then...the consequences are just too horrible to imagine.   metal detectors wouldnt have done much, i heard he bought a ticket, went into the theater, propped open the emergency exit, suited up, then started shooting. When you hit the Emergency Exit an alarm goes off. It also doesn't make sense how they're saying he kicked in the Emergency Exit in other reports. Every Emergency Exit I've seen swings out..not in. You can't kick in a door that swings outward. well maybe it wasnt an emergeny exit. it may have been a side door for employees. ive seen employees going in and out of doors located on either side of the screen during a movie. Many wall st. white collar criminals, serial killers are psychopaths. not all of them are morons. Many are highly intelligent, calculating and cowards. This idiot knew there would be no repercussions for the carnage. he will probably plead insane. If I had to bet money, he woulnd't have pulled this carnage off in an NRA meeting. I just want to add to the fact that having recently dealt with complaints to the cops for vandalism of our property. They pretty much pointed out that they're not gonna waste any man power to figure out who's been messing with our car (3 times). It seemed as if they were saying that the only time they'll take us seriously is if the criminals escalate it to physically harming us. They're not there to stop people from hurting you. If you ban, confiscate, outlaw guns NOW it will not change the situation much immediately but in 20 years your kids or their kids will have a more peaceful life. Think about it...

And this is coming from someone that fired 15 different guns while living in the US and served in the military. good point. I love your idealistic thinking but it's unrealistic, a gun free USA that is. i hope im wrong.
