a high rep enables people to see you are trustworthy,if a newbie saw a profile with a - number they would run a mile

i lost 16000 rep points but honestly,i don't really care if i get them back because to me,the value of the points lay in my being able to view votes and see who valued my comments or indeed dis-liked them

It seems that some have lost more rep points than others and everyone seems to be taking it differently. Some are bemused, some entertained, and still others are incensed. My only questions are what was the criteria for the removal of points and are the deductions permanent? I am personally okay with where my points are now as it seems to reflect rather accurately my 2 points per upload although not anything helpful I've done in the forum.
Edit: Oo, oo, my rep went up a smidge. Almost a hundred points. Toaster oven here I come.

I do however feel sorry for the uploaders, cus they need the rep points so ppl know they are trustworthy.

No hun it does not people have been here for a few weeks an have high rep points if its somethin ur downloadin then look for the crown thats a trusted uploader an u can always go to someones page an check them out if ur not sure

You only been here two months.So I'll assume that you don't why people are mad over losing points.We all worked hard for our points and we want to keep them.

Me too. i've at present had my points changed from -14 to +14 and I've uploaded 51 torrents! How does that work out. It makes newbies think even tho I'm a VUL there's something not right and I believe makes the statuses given look dubious!

I do not like the new system, but I guess I am outvoted on that one.
I am sure that it has hit everyone very hard - it's not so much the rep that bothers me, but the fact that none of us were given any advance warning about the changes.
I agree with buds_suds31166 on members wanting to keep the points they earned as many did so through sheer hard work, including myself, but I understand trust is more important than rep points. Even so - the courtesy of warning us all beforehand would have been nice - is that too much to ask?
