The top right under settings there is a filter you can tick to block out XXX stuff.

Just because kids see worse on other sites doesn't mean that we have to promote nudity on THIS site. I, personally, have no problem with seeing nudity, in fact, I'm quite happy to witness it, pretty much anywhere, anytime (ladies take note, PM's welcome heh heh). BUT, I am aware that there are many things that children should be shielded from, not the least of which is porn/nudity. And if we can do a little bit to save their innocence then I'm all for it. Nuff said.

Kids nowadays dont need Kat or even proper porn sites to view smut. Google images is all they need to get an eyeful.

Who's talking about promoting it? I thought wee were talking about partial nudity on avatars.

I am of the opinion that is the parents job to monitor their children's online activities, not a website's. If a parent is worried their child might be damaged in some way buy something they see or read online, they shouldn't be online alone.


I would say to those parents though that their kid almost certainly has already seen it. Talk to them about it rather than treating them like a mushroom.

I agree. Parental control software it doesn't make sense! It'sname PRENTAL CONTROL. and it's exactly how ir's supposed to be controled by mom or dad not a computer program!!!!!!!

It's an interesting point. I've known some naturalist (nudist) who claim that their kids are better adjusted knowing what they all look like from an early age. If you ever see any of the "real" nudist magazines you may see kids and their Grandmothers and Grand Dad's nude at the lake swimming together.
Otherwise some of the kids may not experience nudity until they have to begin to take showers together after gym class in middle school.
The problem with nudity between peers and mixed age groups or genders is that we have this Puritanical view that Nudity=Sex. It doesn't and shouldn't have to be thought of that way.
But the longer it is put off..........the more difficult it will be for kids to get over the shock of it. When kids are below the grade 4 time of their lives they seem to be more able to accept it according to the nudist I've known.
But then they start their kids off in the nude when toddlers and it is a family
experience.
Just stating this for the sake of comparison.

Yes indeed. The current default is Family Safety Filter Off and perhaps it should be Family Safety Filter On but I haven't seen too many people express concerns about that.

Family friendly is a a subjective term but nowhere does KAT claim to be a children oriented site. As adults we must make the final decision.

Download and install a program such as Net Nanny, Cyber Fence or Block Porn Sites. These are all different programs that are designed to prevent adult nudity and porn websites form loading onto the computer screen!!!!
