Please help, VPN troubles with Kat(solved)02 August 2012, 07:39 (9 months ago)
Hey guys, im having some troubles with my vpn when connecting to Kat. Ive been using BoxPN for a little over a week now with no troubles whatsoever, but today every time i try to connect to Kat.ph i get an automated error report from boxpn saying the page is temporarily unavailable or offline, try resfreshing. no matter how many times i try i get the same results, i can access all other pages that ive tried and i can access kat if i disconnect my vpn, but turn it back on again and kat becomes unavailable.
Any ideas?? This is the screen i get ![]() Thankyou in advance Are you using some kind of proxy with the VPN?
I also use a VPN and I have never had this unless using certain IP's / IP from certain countries when I 'proxy' as well sometimes and i will get "logged out" (when I did not log out- happened automatically) of KAT but only when I have the proxy so could be certain IP's / the country the IP is from And this kinda OT but your subject will get other VPN users to look @ this thread like it did me & some people may not be aware of DNS leaking- Make sure your VPN is not "leaking". At this link it explains this and a test to see if you ARE DNS leaking and is easy to "fix". I personally have this as one of my homepages and after I have connected via tunnel I do the test before doing anything else online. The leak test is @ the 'home' link @ the top left of the page http://www.dnsleaktest.com/what-is-a-dns-leak.php Last edited by rapids22273, 9 months ago ok it appears i might have this figured out, i just went a and checked the server status for my vpn and i seems it has been randomly been going offline for short periods for most of the day, i currently have no internet connection thru my vpn at all at the moment so my guess would be it is an issue with them and not me, and just happened to be down when trying to connect to kat but back online when i tried other sites.
ill keep an eye on it and see what happens, but for now ill mark this tread as solved. And to answer your question rapids22273 no im not using a proxy but thanks for the heads up for future problems i may have Tunnels do drop and could be the remote server like you said. A while ago mine dropped and I could not connect for a few days and I will not even get online without being tunnelled much less up/download, LOL!!!
With the proxy (I am "A Little" paranoid!!!! } it is ponly with certain IP's so if you ever decide to use one and this happens, have the proxy "do" a different IP- solved it for me when I was getting auto-logged out... |
