Why are some subtitles inside a rar which is inside another rar?

When you unzip the subtitle rar of

you get a second rar file and an idx file.
When you unzip the second rar file you get a sub file.

Played the film with VLC and that idx/sub combo has 32 "subtitle" tracks, but none display subtitles for me.
(Tried another avi and the idx/sub subtitles for that movie displayed fine)

double rar'ed files are traditional in apps torrents to stop your antivirus deleting the keygen/crack. but I can't think of any reason to do it with movie or subtitle files.

I thought it's strange too. but after unzipping it works fine. So not a big problem to me.

i think he means only subs are .rar film is not zipped
i get this every now and then...im guessing when you first unzip the subs it gives you the standard .sub and other subs still zipped [or vice versa]

i have played film through vlc player and had 2 different subs displayed [unwatchable] i think maybe they are subs for other video player software as some subs i get dont work with WMP....not much doeslol

can anyone confirm this?

lol
