I am having trouble with burning DVD's. I am using ConvertXtoDVD 4 and have an Aspire Laptop with a DVD burner. I have burned a lot of good working DVD's but the last couple of days when I burn a DVD it does one of 2 things.
1) ConvertX will "burn" the DVD but when I try to play the DVD it says no disc. I can look at the DVD and it does not show that it has been burned. I can put the same DVD that was supposed to be already burned and my DVD burner will ask if I want to burn files to disc and it will allow me to burn another copy of the same DVD. But after the second burn it will still not play.
2) It will burn the DVD and when I put it in my player to check the DVD, it will pick up the DVD then say no playback.
I have burned a lot of good working DVD til the last few days and I do not understand what is happening.

My advice.. Uninstall ConvertXtoDVD restart your PC and then reinstall ConvertXtoDVD and again restart your PC.. If you had no trouble with ConvertXtoDVD there might be a glitch in the programme wouldn't waste my time trying to figure out why.. It's happened to me and that is exactly what I've done especially if it's a copy that you have downloaded...

It's a long shot, but the drive might need to be cleaned. The laser lens may have some crud on it and it isn't getting to the disk. Also, is the DVD the same brand as you always use. I bought a pack of real cheap DVD-R's one time and the plastic was so thick that I could burn them. But none of my players could read them.

I am using Memorex DVD+R. I will try to clean my lens today and see what happens.

You could try uninstalling the drivers for the disc drive, then restart your machine..it will automatically find and install the drivers again. I have a Hp pavilion and i have to do this now and againwink
