The ones that reward comments and posts can cause people to go very verbose just to get points. Sometimes the comments can be almost inane.
The bad rewards are already in play. Do something wrong and our mods will warn, delete, ban, cause your computer to blue screen or some other evil thing. I think that any award should only be given to members who actively contribute to KAT, ie reporting fakes/abusive comments/posts or helping other members either with problems or passing on knowledge that may be interesting and informative etc.
If you start handing out awards for the number of posts or downloads that a member has then that is going to lead to some members taking advantage and downloading or posting any old thing just to get an award, awards should be meaningful and should represent a genuine achievement.

post: upload: i agree TM
post count should mean nothing more than a post count ive noticed that the forum has started posting threads to XXXX has become a senior member ect imho this is not good as it encourages members to post for the sake of posting to get their count up. and as for rewarding the amount of d/loads ha the d/load should be reward enough ,its the uploader that should get the recognition imo as they have took the time ,trouble and risk to upload the files  i agree TM post count should mean nothing more than a post count ive noticed that the forum has started posting threads to XXXX has become a senior member ect imho this is not good as it encourages members to post for the sake of posting to get their count up. and as for rewarding the amount of d/loads ha the d/load should be reward enough ,its the uploader that should get the recognition imo as they have took the time ,trouble and risk to upload the files  Agree with all of that. I think there are a lot of people here that don't know what uploads or downloads are. I think some have them backwards. An upload is something that goes from your own computer somewhere else. A download is something that comes from somewhere to your own computer - like a torrent and subsequently a file or files. |
