I really have to see that fight so please somebody hurry up and upload the torrent already because I'm dying to watch it. That armbar that Vitor slapped on Jones in the first was awesome, and would have finished any other fighter. Jones is now injured because of it, which was evident after the fight. Jones said he was waiting for it to break while Vitor had it in ... After that it was all down hill for Vitor, and I didn't understand him standing flat foot in front of Jones like that for the rest of the fight, that is, when Vitor wasn't on his back eating bloody elbows. I think in some way Vitor was mentally broken by not being able to pull off that perfectly executed armbar in the first ... his movements, or shall I say lack thereof for the rest of the fight made no sense to me ... Poor Vitor almost did that ish in the first, and I for one really wanted him to. I used to love Jones, but not anymore. . Love the Cub Swanson fight ... at the opening of the first I actually felt that Oliveria might edge Swanson, then ole boy ate two crushing body shots, following by that devastating right which was like a slow motion KO because it took a few seconds for Oliveria to crumble. LOVED IT!! . Hamil vs Holett ... don't know why Hamill decided to comeback because he is as slow and rudimentary in his standup as he was before his retirement. Holett seemed pissed at the end of the first when he got back to his feet and I thought he was gonna make Hamill pay in the 2nd ... not so much. That Holett stood there and did nothing to an obviously exhausted Hamill ..I spent the rest of that fight scratching my head, as I watched one sloppy takedown after another executed by Hamill, and Hamill wins. . Bisping vs Stann was a good fight ... I thought Bisping's gameplan of incorporating takedowns was brilliant because Stann would not be prepared for them. I am sure Stann came into this fight expecting a stand up war, and simply couldn't adjust to the unexpected takedowns of Bisping, and I hope Bisping gets a shot at the title because while I don't think he can actually beat Anderson Silva, I know he will not be afraid to fight him. And I am sure Bisping working takedowns into his gameplan is in some way preparation for Anderson because everyone now thinks this is the way to beat Andy . Bienvinidez vs Johnson ... loved the firt round of this fight, and really enjoyed watching the Mouse utilize his speed and foot work to avoid Bieny getting any off on him however, that got old by the end of round 2. Round 3 was more of the same and Johnson really needed to man up and just stay in the pocket a little with Bieny if this fight was going to go anywhere ... Johnson's corner felt the same and rounds 4 and 5 were much better ... I almost spit when they read off a Split Decision win??? In who's drug infested mind did Bieny win any aspect of this fight?? Split Decision was crazy, but Johnson still got the belt, which he earned. Last edited by Nikkita65700, 7 months ago Yea it was a pretty good event, tha reason I see Benavidez winnin' even at least 2-3 roundz in 1 of tha judgez eyez was becuz he was bein' tha aggressor, yea he may not have been landin' 2 many great shotz but at tha time he was backin' Johnson up, throwin' whateva crazy shot he could 2 get Johnson 2 run away from him and in some peoplez eyez that'z who'z winnin' tha fight instead of someone bein' on tha defense and bouncin' around tha whole time, I'm not takin' anythin' away from Johnson either cuz he looked great out there wit his speed and footwork, def felt like he won tha fight and congratz 2 him
That armbar that Vitor slapped on Jones in the first was awesome, and would have finished any other fighter. I agree. I mean Viktor did try to throw some kicks and haymakers, but he really wasn't moving much. I really think he could have beating Jones, maybe not subbed him, but out pointed him. Wasn't a big Belfort fan before, be he definitely came ready to fight. I used to love Jones, but not anymore. Me too. My support of Jones started to wain after the Evans fight. That was one fight I don't think should have gone the distance. It was completely gone after the 151 fiasco and his subsequent interview with Rogan prior to 152. I hate how he uses his age as an excuse for doing dumb things, and how he seems totally oblivious to the fact that he has a responsibility AS Champion to act and conduct himself in a certain way. Don't get me started as I could go on for pages and pages about how Jones disappointed me. Don't get me wrong, his in ring work is superb. Scary thing is that he seems to be getting better and better (exception was the Evans match) with every match. He really can be, if he isn't already, one of the greatest MMA fighters ever. Just gotta work on that attitude. ![]() Love the Cub Swanson fight Me too. Didn't think it would have been that impressive on paper at least not with some of the other fights on the card, but it really was outstanding. Hamil vs Holett ... don't know why Hamill decided to comeback because he is as slow and rudimentary in his standup as he was before his retirement. So totally agree. I don't know if he thought a year older would make him better? Holett should have had that fight if he was more aggressive, but he seemed to keep in inside instead of expressing it.Bisping vs Stann was a good fight ... and I hope Bisping gets a shot at the title because while I don't think he can actually beat Anderson Silva, I know he will not be afraid to fight him. It was a good fight, and I was pulling for Bisping to win (I think that was my only pick of the night that came through. ), but I don't think I would pay to see him versus Silva. It's not gonna even be close. That being said it's hard to argue that anyone else would do any better. I still think the next thing for Silva should be Jones, although I would be worried about that fight for Silva. ![]() Bienvinidez vs Johnson ... loved the firt round of this fight, and really enjoyed watching the Mouse utilize his speed and foot work to avoid Bieny getting any off on him however, that got old by the end of round 2. Okay, I know Dana White went off on the fans for booing and twittering negatively about this fight, and I can totally understand what he was saying. Both fighters gave it their all, they were energetic and I am sure technically sound. The fight just wasn't entertaining. I do like a blood bath or a sub or a k.o. but I can enjoy a fight that is technical too. The problem with these guys at 125 is that it looks so wimpy. There is no power behind the shots, and in this fight, the subs that were attempted, were too far and few in between. I liken it to going to an NBA game and seeing set shots, granny shots, chest passes and ball control. Yeah sure, that is awesome and technically sound, but it is by no means entertaining, and that is what I, as a fan, is looking for. I don't know how deep the flyweight division is, but it should be interesting to see it develop. Hopefully that wasn't the best that that division has to show. The card overall was pretty decent, but as usual of late, the prelims were the fights that stole the show. It's a shame the Strikeforce PPV got canceled. I really feel for those fighters. ![]() |
