Politics, noun. A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage. OMG - the perfect description of the nefarious activities going on behind closed doors in Washington, D.C. - where the rich and powerful gather to haggle over how they will carve up the Union to see which among them can grab & run away with the biggest chunks! I'm saving this comment on my desktop! Thanks, Tin! This perfect Sunday morning, as I was outside pouring rose food water on my roses (in hopes they will flower soon), and plant food water on my lilacs (in hopes those buds will pop today)... I said a prayer over the one rose bush that is ailing (because it was moved to a new spot with more sun, but its taproot was severely damaged by a frustrated man who didn't enjoy digging it up). As I stood there, looking at my poor sickly rosebush, I did a "Laying on of Hands" - which is a healing technique anyone can use on any living thing. It does work! And so, I thought about my Christian "Rules for Living" - among which is a commandment to "Honor Your Father and Mother".
I've come to think that the commandment actually refers to our "greater Father and greater Mother" - to Father Sun and Mother Earth, and not simply to our own very mortal parents. If it were not for Father Sun, there could be no life on Earth. If it were not for the blessings of rain, mild temperatures as we dance around Father Sun every day, the perfect distance from Him to keep us warm, but not scorch us to cinders, if it were not for the many blessings of living things and beings that make life worth while on this our Mother "Gaia" (dogs, cats, horses, all manner of animals .... and corn, wheat, and all manner of edible veggies) we would not have life at all. We live in Paradise here. Our stay is so brief. We should be most thankful, and I believe in striving to keep her (Mother Gaia) beautiful in my small plot of earth. Bayfia12214

If you take the Christian Bible and put it out in the wind and the rain, soon the paper on which the words are printed will disintegrate and the words will be gone. Our bible IS the wind and the rain." Herbalist Carol McGrath as told to her by a Native-American woman.
And BTW, my backyard is blooming with lilacs! Last edited by Tintapper1567, 1 year ago |
