Video format quality question.06 August 2012, 10:04 (9 months ago)
Just have a few questions
1. what is bdrip or brrip? 2. Is it better than blue ray or 720? 3. Also most bdrip/brrip are in mkv/mp4 format but this movie is in avi but it says quality detected bdrip what does that mean? 4. Last but not least some movies in mp4 format say 720 brrip/bdrip in the titile but quality detected says dvd or hd why is that? BDRIP means an encode directly from a source Blu-Ray disk..
BRRIP means an encode from a Blu-Ray release...say 1080p mkv(normally).. both are blu-ray(not blue ray)..720p denotes the dimension of the movie.. blu-ray is always high-quality but its quality gets reduced with size.. 3. Also most bdrip/brrip are in mkv/mp4 format yes..almost all blu-ray encodes are in mkv or mp4..this is because of the format specification..h.264 encode results can be achieved through mkv and mp4.. if xvid is used instead of "h.264" , then it can be in avi(most of them prefer this) as avi format supports it very well..and also most layers can play avi and not mkv..this is also a reason.. 4. Last but not least some movies in mp4 format say 720 brrip/bdrip in the titile but quality detected says dvd or hd why is that no..this wont happen..if the movie is encoded from a dvd source, it says dvd-rip..if it is from a blu-ray file, it says brrip, if it is directly from a blu-ray disc, then it says bdrip..thats it.. 594mgnav12050

Dude thanks for clearing all that up appreciated. I have seen torrents labelled as 720 brrip/bdrip with detected quality as dvd ill post the links give me a moment.
a lot of people get confused with the 720
DVD 720x576p and they think it's a 720 when in fact it goes from the last mumbers.. compared to say a blu-ray of 1280x720p many uploaders write 720p which does confuse people quite a bit and if they provide the info in desription sooner or later peeps will pick up the difference of the two.. |
