You can visit this site to see if you're affected; http://www.dns-ok.us/ Infected machines used the "bad guy" servers for command and control, but after the FBI busted the bad guys, the FBI installed some "nice guy" servers so your computers would stay working. But the FBI is taking down the "nice guy" servers which will means you will lose Internet on Monday is your machine is infected. I clicked on the link and it took me to a page that said “Installing Alureon Virus” that was supposed to happen wasn’t it?

I was curious and clicked on the link (i don't use a P.C. it's a macbook) and now my my pooter keeps freaking out and goes in limbo. Am I just being paranoid ? I got a green screen, but it seems my pooter is now struggling to stay focused. ??????

Nevermind the freak out has stopped, I think I got ahead of myself there..
 Ignore my question please, going back under my rock now. Don’t worry a little bit of paranoia is not a bad thing, I was fairly sure my computer was clean but I still held my breath when I clicked on the link.
 I actually saw this on Fox news this morning..or maybe CNBC..one of those...but when I googled it The Daily Mail was the first hit so I went with it :)~ FOX are worse lol.. all you need to know about FOX owners News Corp http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_Corporation_scandal . (back on topic) i never knew a thing about this so thanks for the info. mine checked out "green". i`ll say fortunately but i was`nt in any doubt tbh. i`ll be amazed if there are floods of people on monday with no web access lets watch and see what happens. governments interfering with web servers ? i`d rather have a virus than trust the FBI they are the ones that burned Mulder and Scully... :P I second that feeling.   So i guess its only for people in the USA then? ill try the link anyway There is estimated to be around 5-10,000 Australians affected. |
