I miss all the Looney Tunes characters of the 40s and 50s ( including Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, Tweety Pie, Sylvester, Sam Sheepdog, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Marvin Martian, Pepe Le Pew, Tazmanian Devil, Speedy Gonzales, Hippety Hopper, Cecil Turtle, Henery Hawk, etc.) Modern cartoons these days are crap compared to the original hand-drawn animations of 50-60 years ago. How could I forget to mention Pepe Le Peu, that wonderful little skunk "lady's man"! Speedy Gonzalez, Henry Hawk!! All those marvelous cartoon characters from Warner Brothers! You are SO right, the stuff that has come out since then has been very disappointing for me. Oh, and then there was that outrageous, amazing Rocky and Bullwinkle Show! Fractured Fairytales! I was able to buy a collection of the Fractured Fairytales, thank heavens. Rocky and Bullwinkle were amazing - what incedible social pundits the animators and writers were. That was "kid's entertainment" that was for adults! Very subtle, very pointed, even abrasive at time.. but GREAT animated artistry! ![]() |
