Windows 7 without a doubt is better than windows 8.. for laptops anyway..
Windows 8 is mostly designed for tablets, which i think are useless devices. the look and feel of windows 8 is just horrible.. But soon enough we will all have to switch to windows 8 because they will stop supporting stuff windows 7 Windows 8 will end up like Windows Vista. A lot of hype for a dismal product. It's unfortunate Microsoft have to resort to unifying operating systems across the range in the hope of being like Apple which is what users appear to be moving towards.
In terms of basic functionality it appears to be a bit harder to use then Windows 7 purely because of it's bias towards mobile devices. However in saying that a lot of people where terrified of Windows Vista when it came out and it ended up being pretty simple to use in the end once you got used to it. Time will tell though. Windows 8 is built upon Windows 7, so virtually there will be no difference in how they operate. The metro UI is something that can be turned off in the BIOS so it is not necessary to the functionality. You will not be required to go purchase a touch screen monitor just to be able to use Windows 8. The feature that I am most looking forward to is the cross platform functionality. microsoft is working to unify their platforms, PC, phone, and Xbox. I think it would be really cool to game with friends across these platforms. what is the best ??? windows 7 or windows 8 running windows 8 , on it's desktop you still feel like you are running windows 7 . that is , until you click on an app , like the snipping tool . then you are taken to the new start page which for a short time was called metro . i hated this for months , until some one pointed me in the right direction . on start-up , windows 8 goes to the lock screen , which you must pass-word protect . once unlocked , windows 8 , goes to the new start screen . on the new start screen are what Microsoft calls tiles . click the desktop tile . you go to a windows 7 style desktop . once on your desktop , click the windows key on your keyboard . and you are back at your start screen . click [windows key]back to desktop , click [windows key] again back to start screen again . it is still too early to tell . but windows 8 does have potential . ![]() Last edited by tonowando3306, 2 months ago |
