Annoying things they do in movies:

A cabbie living in Yanji City, apparently a region between North Korea, China and Russia, has had his wife leave for Korea, never to be heard from again.
He is living out of the bottom of a bottle and his broke, down and out ass is the property of loan sharks.
His self disgust mingled with his drinking and gambling addictions lead him to wind up in an even worse situation than he imagined possible when a ruthless people-smuggler offers him an out.
IMO, this was really in the vein of Old Boy and Bittersweet Life.(both films I can't recommend highly enough either)
Cynical, realistic and at times, dripping black comedy, it is a heavy handed, violent and enthralling film that cranks along at a decent pace and makes valid reference to some pretty grim subject matter, the sheer hell people will go through to try and achieve a better life being one.
