Only two days after the event so I won't say much yet. Weird night from the prelims on for sure. I hope more people jump in to give their opinion. MMA is such a rich sport, I hope more people appreciate it for all that it is worth.

I think its gone flat nearly every lightweight title fight gone the distance and neither side pushing that hard coz they are trying to not lose, instead of taking the chance and winning big

I actually thought the opposite (surprise surprise titter). I thought both Henderson and Melendez gave it their all. Henderson was more impressive again Diaz and I was really surprised at how good Melendez was. The significant strike counter surprised me too, as I know Henderson got some good shots in but I really though Melendez made it closer than the finally tally. The final surprise for me was the split decision. It was very close, imho, but I really thought it was Henderson all the way. I enjoyed the fight.
.
Props to Cormier for saying that he didn't show his best against Mir. My opinion was that he had the perfect gameplan to go against Mir using his greater size to just smother Mir against the cage. I think it was flawlessly executed and he definitely won it. Not a flashy fight but well executed. I am glad someone from outside the UFC is making an impact since the acquisition. biggrin
.
I am glad Brown and Mein got fight of the night. That truly was a great battle and very entertaining. I didn't have a dog in the fight so it was really good to just sit back and enjoy a truly good battle, even a short one :)
.
And finally Diaz - Thompson. I don't know what happened to the Diaz brothers, maybe too many shots to the head or something but there was one point not too long ago where I absolutely detested them, BUT I respected their fighting skills. This match showed nothing of the Nate Diaz that I saw 4 or even 5 fights ago. He needs to make a major decision in his life at this point and either hang it up or get off (or back on tongue) the mary jane and get back to the fighter with the bad ass skills and not just the bad ass mouth. And I know PP is going to disagree with me, but my last little complaint with this fight was I think the moustachio ref let it go too long. Nate was out on his feet from the kick, and then the elbow to the face and then the repeated punches. Too much in my humble opinion.
.
Tonight's UFC 159 really looks like a good card, let's hope it lives up to it. I am not a Sonnen fan, but I hope he pushes Jones more than he pushed Silva in their last fight.

UFC on Fox 7....wow, all I can say is wow. Excellent card beginning to end, including the prelims. I'll comment more later when people get a chance to DL it and watch it. The only thing I want to say is that Henderson pushing his hair back pissed me off more than anything all night. He played with his hair so much, I wanted to give him a dress and call him Sally. (smh)
.
Excellent card, can't wait to comment later on.

Thank you Pringlescan3579 and wrong user link for your advice. It was exactly what I needed to know. :)

I turn to you guys for all my computer related questions, which I think is a testament to how great a community KAT has versus being "just" a torrent site. :)
.
And yes I did search for my question before I chose to post it. :P
.
I have a Toshiba Laptop L305D-S5974. 750GB HDD, AMD Sempron Processor SI-42...I think it's 2.1gigahertz. Running Win 7 home edition 32 bit. 3GB DDR2.
.
Here's my issue. Lag. Playing online games and it lags. Not all the time, but when I encounter new content and heavy group content (not so bad on solo).
.
Two questions: I currently have 3GB RAM. It's about 30 dollars U.S. for a 2GB memory to fit in. Is it worth it to buy it? I mean will I see a difference in the lag rate? Is 4GB really that much better than 3GB in terms of RAM?
.
Question two: what happens if I get Win 7 64bit instead? Will that help the lag? It will allow me to add more memory too, but can my laptop take it? I know 32 bit doesn't go over 4GB of RAM and most of that is used by Windows anyway.
.
Question 2.5: If I do get the 2GB of memory, would it help to go up to the 64bit OS or would that just cancel out the benefits of the extra memory?
.
And yes it would be nice to get a new computer, and yes I know it might be a video card issue, or my crappy internet, or solar flares, but I am curious as to the memory at this point in time. :P
.
Thank you guys so much in advance!

EDIT: Thank you Pringlescan and Aftermath for your prompt and appropro replies. It definitely gave me the answer I needed. I would +1 you guys but apparently I have reached my "daily limit". o_0

Mark Goddard is probably the best ref unless Big John is back I don't know if hes back or gone again

I will give it a few days before I comment on Bellator 93. In my humble opinion it really was a great event, from the prelims through the main card.
.
I had forgotten about Goddard! He is indeed a good ref, even if he is English (j/k! :)) I still would take Dean over him. Dean seems, to me at least, to be the least obtrusive in the matches, and rarely makes mistakes. Goddard might actually be my number two even over Big John McCarthy. Rosenthal might be my number 4, and to make it an even 5, let's throw...umm....Mike Beltran in there, just for some mustachio power. XD

I've got a question for all the MMA fans here on KAT, who do you think was the first all-rounder in MMA? Or who was good at striking and subs before any others I have someone in mind but will wait to see other answers.

Good question. I think someone already mentioned Bruce Lee and I will have to agree that insofar as an all around fighter, Bruce Lee would be my choice as someone who excelled at both the grappling and striking aspects of what is today's MMA.
.
If we are talking more modern, as in someone who was good at both striking and grappling, since the UFC's inception in 1993 I would say...it's hard to think of anyone outside of Wanderlei Silva. His fights with Rampage in 04 showcase both aspects of his game. Certainly not in Bruce Lee's league, but I think he might be the first to do both decently.
.
Bellator tonight. I can't wait to see Marcin Held tonight. After being cancelled twice, I hope he comes out guns blazing and heel hooks Jensen first round. I am not usually a lightweight fan, but that kid is damned impressive!
.
I hope everyone got to see UFC 158 by now...
.
.
.
.
.
Cause as much as I hated on Condit, his fight with Hendricks was definitely the entertainment of the night.....I mean not including the post interview with Diaz. I mean, wow, just wow. (smh)
.
GSP did what GSP has done lately and outpointed his opponent. It was clear that even injured he was the superior fighter and was never in any real trouble.
.
With Hendrick's win and his record, it's hard to deny that he deserves a title shot. The only thing is I don't think he will fair any better than any of GSP's recent opponents. I also don't think it's a fight a lot of MMA fans will pay to go see. Still he deserves it, and outside of a GSP/Silva fight, I am not sure what else the division has to offer, in terms of a title fight.
.
Ellenberger's KO of Marquardt was nice....but you are talking about Ellenberger and Marquardt. Impressive win coming off of his loss to Kampmann (sp?), and I know people are talking about him as a number one contender, but c'mon really?
.
I think Camozzi's win could have gone either way with Ring. I even thought Ring had won it.
.
And last thing before I end has to be about the Elkins KO. Herb Dean is by far the best ref in UFC. Anyone who says differently doesn't know/watch enough MMA. Yves Lavigne is on the opposite end of that scale, in a tight fight with Mario Yamasaki. This is just another example to that point. I understand wanting to protect the fighters and yes, Elkins was active, but wasn't particularly effective as shown by Carvalho's immediate recovery. At some point you have got to let the fighters fight. And Lavigne is definitely not known for doing this.
.
I hope Bellator will be entertaining tonight!

If you haven't seen UFC on Fuel 8 DON'T keep reading my comment

Funniest thing about that night was Silva playing with himself after both kicks to his nuts. ROTFLMAO! I respect Silva for what he has done in the sport but though his heart may be there, the skills aren't what they once were. Props to Stann for standing there and trading with him. A nice KO too, but just shades of his former greatness.
.
Hunt-Struve. Hunt is a moron plain and simple. Herb Dean did the right thing in stopping the fight. If Hunt had done what he was supposed to, what everyone EXPECTED him to do, which was get on top and try to finish the fight, then the ending would have been obvious and Dean would have stepped in maybe two punches later. By acting like he was "all that and a bag of chips" he put Dean in an awkward position. But like the ace ref that he is, Dean made the right call, even if it looked awkward.
.
Gomi-Sanchez. Gomi got robbed. I don't how he did, but there was no way Sanchez won rounds 2 and 3 or even one of them. Even Sanchez had a look on his face like "what, who me?"
.
Okami - Lombard. Lombard has that LOOK of a MMA fighter. You can't help but pull for him. That being said, I thought it was pretty clear that Okami won two of the three, with only the last one going to Lombard. Anyway, it was an okay fight, but not as explosive as it could have been.
.
Kim - guy who's name I won't even begin to try to butcher. I am not a Kim fan by any stretch, but from a purely technical point of view, this might have been the most entertaining fight of the night. Sure he's boring, but effective. No doubt about who won this one.
.
I purposely skipped UFC 157. I have so many issues with them putting Rousey as the main event. I have no doubt that she is the strongest woman around, but for them to just GIVE her title and then have her main event a PPV, it's a joke. Especially over Machida/Henderson....which was a joke in itself. Machida should be embarrassed for run away performance. Yeah a win's a win, but some win's shouldn't be. That was one of them.
.
Upcoming, I am not a GSP fan, but I hope he kicks Diaz's butt all over that octagon. I was pulling for his brother Nate and he got pwned by Henderson. I expect much of the same here. Condit, should crawl into some hole and just die. He should be embarrassed to have ever held the championship belt as he was a paper champ at best.
.
What I am really looking forward to is Marcin Held and Bellator. That kid is amazing with the leg locks, and I can't wait to see him final get his shot at the championship after two cancelations.
.
k, that's enough for now. Long live MMA! :)

I pad mini  go to this post
I am not an Apple fan either, but the Ipad Mini is the only tablet in it's size with a rear facing camera which is important for my GF to have as she enjoys taking pictures.
.
As to the issue itself, not sure what a work around is, I am sorry. :(
