Just a little update from me. Hotspot shield working fine but you need to turn it on/off when using KAT, it blocks torrent traffic so no seeding/leaching when its on.
Downloaded the TOR browser bundle. That works perfectly, can visit and sign into KAT no problems. It's slightly slower than using Firefox or Chrome but not really a noticeable problem after initial log in.
So TOR browser FTW from me. Suck it you pesky KAT blockade, piracy alive and well in the UK ;)
