views: 1141 you will get MAC address and other details for LAN and the wireless connection using the command ipconfig /all Hope this helps let me know if u need more help when i try to post the result from my pc, its not allowing me to post it, it is showing as spam. i dont know why :-( I should've mentioned that I needed wireless details of the computers/laptops on the network and not my own. Now, this is not clear. You can only find MACs and IPs of LAN devices attached directly to you network. If a notebook is attached to your network by the means of WI-FI than during the scan from your PC you will receive the MAC and IP address of the WI-FI card. If you attach a desktop by the means of Ethernet it will show up in your scan it's IP and MAC of the wired LAN card. What you CAN'T find is the MAC address of a WI-FI device that is NOT connected to your network by the means of a simple net scan. Can be done, but it's a different ball game completely. views: 1141 Just open Command Prompt Run as Administrator in VIsta & Windows 7 Type ipconfig /all and hit enter this will show all the details of your computer if u want anybody else's details, you can use Angry IP which is under 1MB size and free ofcourse :-) Yes, I know about finding my own details. Software for finding MAC address and IP, suggestions?? {SOLVED} go to this post
views: 1141 I need to find a software to find out the ethernet MAC address and Wireless MAC address of all the Computers in a LAN network, along with IP and Computer name.
I've heard that there are softwares to do so, any help is appreciated. This is not for any kind of hacking purpose, this is a part of a task for my selection into a committee which regulates the IT infrastructure. edit:- As I've stated above, this is not for any unethical purpose. I'm supposed to collect data about the computers connected to the LAN network which is a part of the institution I'm in. I have been instructed by the authorities to do so; in no way will I be crossing any boundaries. It will a very tedious task if I try to collect the data manually, hence the software. Typing 17,000 words in 3 days. No copy+paste, self assessment questionnaires. My hands hurt. did you counted the words? it would've been better if ya had utilized the counting time for typing! MS Word counts the words for you. Oh so you finished? I though you're gonna start! Not finished yet, half way through. Taking a break for now, have to finish by tomorrow.
