'Chemistry' is the third album from reality television success story, Girls Aloud. Stunning production work and true vocal talent has always set the girls apart from their peers, and this album is no different in that respect, proving yet again that pop music needn't be a lightweight and throwaway genre. Includes the single 'Biology'. This two-disc version also includes a selection of Christmas classics, covered in the the groups own inimitable style.

The Chemistry album itself is surely the new benchmark for intelligent approachable dance pop [call it what you like] music. It's like your dream pop group come alive. I can only imagine the fun the girls and the Xemomania team had in putting this together. 'Model' sounds like it could have been written for a new wave group in the late seventies. 'Biology', although it sounds like three songs cobbled together, is superb from it's glam rockesque verses onwards. And 'Long Hot Summer' is just flawless. There is also enough varation in this album to stop you from getting anywhere near bored. This is immaculate and without a doubt one of the best albums of 2005. It probably won't get the credit it deserves though.

But that's not the end of the story.The Christmas bonus disc - is very good. It Contains more than half decent versions of the classic Wizzard 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' and Slade 'Merry Xmas Everybody' songs.
The four new Christmas songs written by the girls' production team are pretty decent too. Indeed 'I Wanna Kiss You So', 'Not Tonight Santa' and 'Christmas Round At Ours' pull off the trick of sounding modern and Spectoresque at the same time. Indeed this whole bonus disc is highly reminiscent of the classic Phil Spector Christmas Album which is still the high watermark of Christmas albums.
