The Director's Cut version premiered on MySpace on October 28, 2008; the video also premiered in her official YouTube on October 31.[ The video became available in the U.S. and Canada iTunes store on Nov. 18 2008. The video was edited in order to played on television. There are brief face shots where Duff can be seen sporting a black blindfold and ponytail, similar to Madonna in her "Erotica" video

Before the U.S. iTunes release of "Reach Out", the video was the only available purchase of the song. The music video was added to MTV Latin America's video channel on December 2008 and it was added on UK music video channels in January 2009."
