House of M Re-edits (The Unknown Editor)

Ok folks, Let's face it...not all comic scans are equal. Some have pages too small. Some have file sizes too large. Some have poor quality. Some have been (In my opinion) mutilated by scanners who insist on placing their logos on the cover and ruining the idea of preserving these books digitally as they appeared when published.



I'm sure you all know what I mean. While I have great appreciation for all the scanners in the scene, some are better than others. My personal favorite is The Minutemen. And it is their quality I try to emulate here. Now just because you find a batch of my edits does not mean I considered the original scanner's work to be poor. Sometimes they just didn't have access to high quality graphics progs that are available now. Sometimes I thought they could just use a little color adjustment tweak.



So here is what you can expect to find in these edits:



Color adjustments (Don't like my books to be as bright and color as a Disney movie, so I desaturate them to be more in keeping with todays moe adult themed books.



Sharpenening (where needed)



Depixelization



Removal of extra stuff (whether it be par files inside, advetisements, I will keep letter pages where available and any such stuff that I feel unnecessary to keeping the file size decent, Important when you collection exceeds several thousands. That material also ruins the flow of the reading to me. What I will NOT remove are the scanner's tags included. They've got a right to be proud of their work.)



Removal of scanner logos from the covers (I am glad that this practice is finally winding down. Although there a few who still refuse to give it up. To them I say PLEASE STOP! Please make yourself a big ass tag and place it at the end of the scan. When you put it on the cover you mutilate what you sought to preserve!)



Now I'm sure some might not like some of my choices. But I believe far many more will agree. Like they say "Don't like it, Don't download it". I personally don't see any wrong with aiming for the best quality possible. I am NOT the best, I just feel as proud of my work as does everyone else in the scene. Hey, I'm pretty happy with it. Your mileage may vary.



Lastly, feel free to delete this .nfo if you like. I hate the damn things popping up myself. I put my logo at the end where it belongs.
